Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. I've seen a lot of questions about the other sets - to give context - since this is our first custom drop with XDA, it isn't as easy as SP drops where we get a full list of kits and MOQ lock points. Instead, I have to work with the manufactures and vendors to make sure we can make every kit, sort it, and get it into everyone's hands.
That's why we've been concentrating our price breaks on the two "base kits" (alphas + betas). However, we will also be working on pricing for kits that are getting more and more popular (the different icon / text mods) and see if we can squeeze out any savings there for the community as well.
Thanks everyone for the patience and support!
Dealing with someone new is mostly a risk to you MD because if this goes pear-shaped, then you'll be out of a lot of moolah so let's hope this goes through perfectly for a first order arrangement.
excited for further update and for this drop to close in huge success :D
