CTRL v2 leaks green light through bottom light strip when bottom light strip is turned off
Hi I recently purchased a DROP CTRL v2, and I want to turn off the light that encircles the bottom edge of the keyboard, when I turn this off there is still a green light on the left 2/3 of the keyboard that leaks through. I also have the DROP SHIFT v2 which doesn't have this problem. Has anyone seem this? Possibly the LED shining though a green PCB internally or something? -N

What kits for your keyboard?
Scroll down, have a look AND read!
This list only covers the needed Default/Standard layout for a keyboard - grey modifiers. Colour accents (Bauhaus), see note at bottom. - The included space bar in the Alpha and Beta kit is the standard 6.25u.
- Keyboards with Topre switches need MX sliders. Already fitted with MX sliders or plan to, No MX sliders = keyset no fit.
- If your keyboard has the fatass ISO Enter key, you need to add the ISO Enter kit.
Standard 60% - Alpha/Beta, Basic Standard TKL - Alpha/Beta, Basic Standard Full Size (104keys) - Alpha/Beta, Basic Calc. This visual will help those who still have trouble getting to grips what Standard is and looks like:

Other information - Some design information about this keyset on MiTo's blog (https://mitormk.wordpress.com/) - Dieter Rams kit does not have homing keys - Aware of space bar stem placement concern with a few Leopold owners - XDA is a uniform profile so it can be placed on any row - All images on description page are visual renders, not photos of physical representation of the product. - If you can't find your keyboard, refer to the graph mockup at the top to compare - You can replace Alpha/Beta kit with Dieter Rams kit - you may need Space bar kit for your keyboard if you do this - Both Ortholinear kit's 2u keycap is concave, not convex - A few keyboards may require x2 of any particular kits - double check your keyboard! ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ Information you should know! ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ ⬆ Tried to cover as much as I can BUT you may spot some mistakes/errors, missing some keyboards/your keyboard(s), drop a note and I'll correct it/add it to the list. @MiTo - Buy me lunch <3
@Makami - Thanks! It kind of got to the point where all these keyboard names got me feeling nauseated. MD should work on that, its needed. People will just have to direct link to this post for now :[
And great job with the mockups!
Amazing work @Vira, it's the talk around the office this morning!
"Bauhaus kit - It is a novelties/gentle accents kit for the bottom row, not a complete replacement kit for any modifier kits. So don't go believing you can replace this with the Basic Modifiers kit. "-
_Any_ modifier kit? Including Tsangan? Now I'm doubting what I was told before that Bauhaus was just the colored version of Tsangan as far as coverage is concerned. Would you verify that I don't need Alphas+Basic+Tsangan+Bauhaus and Alphas+Basic+Bauhaus is enough? I'm "100% certain to have no intention going back to the grey modifiers or keep them."

Have a nice weekend full of love :)
The second 2.25u shift isn't covered this way, extra modifiers are needed for both. Tsangan isn't needed, 1u bottomrow to the left of the 660M can be covered by 1u code of extra modifiers.
Updated the post, here's the breakdown: - Added a freaking load of keyboards, even the Standard ones due to people still somehow end up having trouble figuring it out, so I popped them in. The list is now doubled over. I can say, I think this is roughly touching about 80% of the current market's keyboards out there.
- I've organised the list; it was still somewhat daunting for any freshmens even though I clearly listed the keyboard out. At the same time, I've categorised them to make it easier for people to hunt and look for a keyboard.
- Also, I have marked each keyboard with an abbreviation code with [S], [S-] or [S+] to help identify if the key is Standard or not. If it's standard one can look there at what's needed for the keyboard or refer to the visual mockup chart at the top. Clearly explained what each mark means.
- As mentioned, I've added a visual mockup chart to visually guide and show those who still have trouble understanding what Standard is in the keyboard community ಠ_ಠ Hopefully, and this should remove/nail out the remaining concern/confusion.
- Some minor little error and corrections were done.
And of course, any mistakes you may see, drop a note, and I'll sort it as soon as I can. Hopefully, this should clear up any confusion that occurs. If someone still ends up asking what kits they need for their board, let me know who it is, and I'd like to invite them for tea and talk about the universe and aliens existing alongside us.
Ever since I've posted this, there's been a vast improvement, people asking less and managing by themselves, I thiink. Regardless, it mostly nails down to specific questions by people; good or bad; I think it's good :] I know this post is now lengthy but refined so hoping it should be more friendly and approachable to any freshmans.
That's all for now. Oh, and also, Happy Lunar New Year! Whether you celebrate it or not, I still wish you all best wishes and good health AND mercy on all of us and our wallet this year for all the keycap sets and keyboards launching or anything we end up eyeballing then purchasing.
Gonna brew some tea~
Sorry, still a little confused by the parentheticals. I have an arrow layout minivan, does that mean I'm juggling between the Tsangan, Extra, and Mini Bars? I know for sure I have to get the alphas with the basics, but I was a little unsure about the rest.
Also, would I be able to replace the alphas with a runic set?
Sorry for my compiled post still not being clear enough. You may need all three kits with your layout.
Is your minivan the standard Arrow layout? If you've customised it, we may have to dig a little further. I have the standard arrow layout from my reference library, but hasn't been checked/updated for sometime now. Have a look at it and let me know if this is your exact layout; do feel free to change any key and pass me back the permalink. You can see what kit you need or I can help you check if you're still unsure. Here's the link: https://goo.gl/ZCxTlV
For the Dieter Rams runic kit, you can if you'd like to :]
The Bauhaus has a 1.75U shift key correct?
I had some mails with Laci a few days ago, because the footage shown at Crowdsupply doesn't show the correct keycapsizes there. His answer had been: "Our layouts and keycaps page contains the correct information. The pictures of the other pages are outdated and will be updated eventually." https://ultimatehackingkeyboard.com/layout-and-keycaps
Correct layout:
Will update my post to let people who may not get that hint; thanks for letting know your concern!
So you'll try Granite on the UHK? Won't that be the same story for the right Control key?
This layout (http://i.imgur.com/1RDasyV.jpg) uses 1.5 modifiers right?
Also is the spacebar from this shot 7u spacebar?
So Runic would cover the alphabets, Mono 1-9 covers the numbers in number pad, the secondary legends of the numbers row in the main cluster will cover the numbers row, Blanks 1u cover the F-row, Blanks 2u cover the 2u keys in the number pad. The rest of the 1u from Mono & Blanks will fill out a standard 104-ANSI layout.
I've double & triple checked and it should work. Though a 3rd, 4th & 5th set of eyes would be greatly appreciated as well :)
Final option for me would be to leave all the original modifiers on the UHK and just replace the alphas with PBT blanks. I type on Colemak and I'm proud of it, so I've swapped the keycaps around on all my keyboards. That's easy with Granite and XDA an any all-rows single profile keycaps; but the OEM profile on the UHK doesn't allow me to swap between the rows...
Well, we've still got some months to figure this out ;-)
I used a Delete for the 1.5u Backspace (which is close enough), but for the 2.25u Control on the right side my only choices were Enter and Shift. I went with the Enter key because at least it has the same colour as the left Control ;-)
I saw that in the new re-run of Canvas, they now put two 1.75u space bars into the 40s package, so it's now much easier to get both halves of the space bar; I had to buy two packs of Minibars, so now I am left with lots of extra space bars in a variety of sizes. Anyone in need of some smaller space bars?
My sincere hope is, now that UHKs are shipping, in the future some of the keycap sets will include those 1.75u bars, the 1.5u backspace, and 2.25u control. It's easier for same-row caps, but for those sets with sculpted rows, it's even harder, because the 1.5u backspace is Row 1 (you can get a Row 2 with some keysets).
Anyway, enough for today, gotta practice some typing! :-D
even though i've ordered a diy kit UHK i still have to wait till July/August :( My keycaps collecting dust for months now.
Wish you all the best and a lot of fun!
