Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. It is 11:45 AM local time and I just received the DHL parcel from the manufacturer. I suspect expedition and customs took longer this time because the parcel was unexpectedly big and heavy.
There are over 20 ziplock bags containing kits. I have lots of keycaps to review and go through, and after a quick glance I noticed relevant improvement from the initial run. Didn't do any precise review yet, but just wanted to share my first impression upon opening the parcel. I have Betas here as well, colored modifiers even the Dieter Rams kit.
I'll be reviewing, inspecting and measuring the legends from this batch in the next couple of days and will get back to you as soon as I'm done, hopefully with some pictures in a real keyboard.
Again, I appreciate your support and patience, I'm positive that we are going to have an incredible keycap set being delivered to you fellow enthusiasts and supporters soon.
Did you miss the update?!
