MiToI have a full set of round 1 and am very happy with them. But I might have to jump on round 2 for the purple caps. They look awesome. Any chance of an ortho set of them? Or at least some blanks?
GarryLemondHey man, thanks for checking out the project, glad you enjoy it! Sadly no purple BETAS, that would be way too many options... Hope you understand!
MiToYeah ofc! Just personally like the betas better, but anyways, will most certainly be in for some kits! Especially Rams, been waiting / hoping for those for quite some time! :)
Thanks for your fast response!
MiToYeah, I sometimes use F keys to fill in. But in some cases it just doesn't look nice. Blanks are always nice as it at least looks clean even if you can't look at the keys to know what it is. Especially if you have a custom ortho where you likely won't be able to get all the keys you need anyways.
But as for ortho, mostly just what you have in the normal Ortho kit, just in purple. Esc, Tab, Shift (x2), Ctrl, Alt, Raise, Lower, Arrows, Enter, and Backspace. I could get most of that between the full wolfgang set plus numpad. The shift keys being the main ones that are missing. Actually, if you just added tab and shift to the full set, that would pretty much cover it.
BillyBuergerI'm thinking about making a Blanks kit but I'm not sure exactly what's gonna look like. I'll give it a though about adding the suggested 1us to the Manfred kit or something (like the Wolfgang one). Let's see what happens, thanks for the detailed feedback and for expressing your situation!
MiToJust when I thought I would get to keep some of my salary... Bye bye wallet !!!
It's incredible, that I asked you about canvas while we were on the pulse drop, and sure enough you deliver !!!
MiToI had such a hard time finding canvas , since I missed the first drop. I actually brought the alphas, micons mods and text mods from mechmarket for a total of $200 from different sources on mechmarket just last month, after I commented on the pulse drop.
But I'll be in on this drop for the betas, Bauhaus, ergodox, and thinking about the Manfred kit. If you include a nubbed f&j , I'll likely get those kits again as well :)
coffeeshopcoderOh man, at least here's another chance to grab the kits... I'm looking forward to implement nub keycaps (let's see if I can)! Thank you very much for checking the project, I really appreciate it!
MiToI love the R2, definitely in for an Alphas + Orthos kit for my Preonic.
I noticed the Bauhaus kits are sooo close to being able to fill most 60% boards, looks like only a 2.0 Backspace, a 1.5 Tab (a control/alt could be substituted, but not ideal) and a 1.75 Caps Lock (Hack could substitute which is fine) are missing to be able to handle almost everything. Any chance of adding at least the Backspace and maybe Tab in?
dvorcolI have not researched what the best actual choice is yet, but I suspect hot glue will probably not stick well enough over time. Fair amount of sheer pressure when using the keys so sugru may not stick well either. Was thinking of a superglue but ironically/unsurprisingly ran across this lament that it doesn't stick well either: https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=57346.0 ... Another thing that comes to mind is using PBT 3D printer filament in a printer specially set up to deposit on top of the key, or just melting it onto the key. There's a reason I haven't done this yet lol
SifakaMonI was thinking hot glue would be good because it will protrude and make a nub (I think superglue is too runny) and it wouldn't be permanent (in case I don't like it). If you want something permanent, I remember seeing someone in a different discussion who used little steel balls - like from a ball bearing - and drilled a crater (not a thru hole) to set them in. I can't recall how they were locked in, though. Maybe epoxy of some type. Their biggest issue was the balls defaced centered legends.
It's coming back, better than never!
