Just wondering, has anyone compiled a list of non-standard key sizes for this keyboard? Or created a sweet layout with the numbers on top of those keycaps?
Only one keycap's width is different from a standard keyboard: the right SHIFT.
Four keys' rows are different from standard: DEL, HOME, PG UP, and PG DN.
EDIT: R2 HOME keycap is also not standard - I missed it at first.
BlueCrownedAccording to Yanbo Wu, only the keycaps in this picture (I just put sizes on his pic) are in this drop. These keycaps will cover this keyboard correctly. This is my understanding from Yabo’s comment pinned to the top of these discussions - I have no inside knowledge.
BlueCrowned , @YanboWu, @MiTo, and everyone else: the Cyberdeck kit only covers 4/5 of the ALT's non-standard keycaps. I initially missed the ALT 65's R2 HOME keycap. On a standard keyboard it is R1, and the Cyberdeck kit does not have an R2 HOME.
I've edited my pictures and text above. I'm very sorry for my mistake. And I should add that this ALT keyboard is fully programmable, so you can change any key to whatever you want.
BlueCrownedwow cyberdeck doesn’t cover alt by one key, namely r2 home. Good thing I bought spare Mitowaves set when it dropped at a good deal. Hmmm time to plan this out and see what I can use.
dvorcolI feel like this should be clearer on the description for this keyboard though, or else MiTo should have the R2 home included with Cyberdeck. I'm sure some people will be unhappy to learn that they have to buy a whole new kit (via this drop) just to have a proper complete board to go with the keycaps even if they already bought laser.
BlueCrownedExcept anyone could simply reprogram the board so the Laser ALT 65% keymap becomes compatible with not only Cyberdeck but practically any keyset that exists.
Cyberdeck kit comes with literally 21 navigation keycaps in various row variations that can be assigned to the navigation cluster of the ALT. Unfortunately none of the combinations is exactly what you see in the vanilla ALT but lets be honest?
It’s absolutely possible for anyone to find not only a compatible keymap but one that makes sense for him/her specifically, given the options provided with ALT barebones + Cyberdeck.
My apologies for the lack of a HOME R2 in the Cyberdeck kit, I will try to do better planning next time so this won’t occur again. Hope you understtand!
