Translucent Doubleshot ABS in Official Laser Colors

Styled in the official colors of GMK Laser, these keycaps are a great complement to the futuristic cyberpunk set—or a cool addition to other colorways. Made in Germany by GMK, they’re Cherry MX compatible and made from 1.5-millimeter doubleshot ABS plastic for durability. The construction is designed to pair with backlighting, leaving solid color legends and injection marks behind for maximum contrast, like a sunset in the blocknet. Each set comes with eight keycaps including one R1 keycap, two R4 keycaps, WASD keycaps, and an Enter keycap.

Note: At checkout, choose between Laser Dawn (pink) and Laser Dusk (purple).

> From the looks if it, you guys just did an R1 test and didn't actually test all the rows and are now playing it off as "we meant for it to look like this". I'm sorry, this isn't a Bob Ross "Happy little mistake" by any means, as you cannot go back over it with paint to fix it. It is a bit disrespectful from you to suggest that “we are playing it off as“ something, as I don’t know what type of experience you had with other vendors but I’m completely honest and clear when it comes to my craft. I go beyond limits to make sure everything is perfect and in synergy with my vision and what I advertise. I try to communicate the best I can. The final result of this kit is exactly what I advertised on Massdrop and my website. The renders are meant to show the included keycaps, they are not a true representation of post-injected plastic and this is obvious. In all honesty, people should learn how to set expectations and actually understand the product they are buying before throwing money at stuff and buying into consumerism hype, then criticize and blame the creators later for not delivering what their imagination wanted. > I don't know how that got switched around (...) changes made were for the worse. It's also not an "it's how it is photographed" as I have yet to see anyone actually reproduce that same dark purple. This is completely wrong, colors never got switched or changed as you are suggesting. The sample has the same exact pigments used in the final product. The discrepancies you see are indeed result of photography, as I have the keycaps in hand and the purple ones can look like the pictures here depending on lightning. In conclusion, there aren’t any issues with these keycaps, the final result is exactly what I envisioned, prototyped and advertised. The colors and the molds are all correct, but some of you didn’t know what to expect because you bought into hype and informations (apparently) wasn’t crystal clear. All I can do is make information clearer next time, and that’s what I plan to do moving forward.

That's true for all the keycaps with exception of the R2 W key. It's so far off and smeared compared to the others it looks out of place. Compare the rest of the caps as well, it's really down to the double shot process of their R1 and R2 keycaps that produced undesirable results. The R1 sunset key is the exact same shown as the prototype, so it shows the results are repeatable and not just a one off. If this was a known issue from the start, it should have been communicated before the drop ended, not 1 week prior to delivery of the product. The R4 sunset, and R3 A, S, D, and Enter all look acceptable though. Much cleaner, although still to your "gritty cyberpunk" interior doubleshot. But that makes sense when shoving molten plastic at high pressure through another plastic part. If the whole kit turned out this way, you wouldn't have as much of a complaint. You then provided an FAQ during delivery, which is too late to provide a "let me explain" at the resulted keycaps. If that information was known (mainly the smearing of the R2 W key) you wouldn't get as much backlash and probably would have a lot of people not get in on the drop. From the looks if it, you guys just did an R1 test and didn't actually test all the rows and are now playing it off as "we meant for it to look like this". I'm sorry, this isn't a Bob Ross "Happy little mistake" by any means, as you cannot go back over it with paint to fix it. However, then there's the issue of the "Dusk" color from the photographed prototypes to delivered product. I don't know how that got switched around but the changes made were for the worse. It doesn't seem like this was part of the discussion on your colorway selection trip to Germany either, because these were shipped well in advance of the full Cyberdeck caps as well. It's also not a "it's how it is photographed" as I have yet to see anyone actually reproduce that same dark purple. Maybe you posted a clarification on your website and buried in the comments, but that wasn't communicated on the drop page at all in the overview. You can't expect the people making a purchase through Massdrop to follow you through all your social media accounts and personal website or dig through hundreds of comments to get updates/clarifications on the product. Just let it be a lesson learned and apply that towards future drops when you're trying to be experimental. Put clarification notices on the main overview page and give an email update to those who have already committed to the drop of the update.
