Hey everyone, there seems to be some concerns noted by consumers who may first be entering the MK hobby.
My keycaps are shorter than my keycap set, I thought they were compatible? I looked through the Overview and Specs section and noticed that Massdrop did not specify which profile these keycaps were. It only states that they are "Compatible with Cherry MX switches and clones". This is an error on MD's part. An experienced consumer in the hobby would automatically assume that these are GMK profile, but someone just entering the hobby would not know the difference or even to look. If you would like to request a refund please contact Massdrop's support or consider reselling your kits on /r/mechmarket. Although this set was intended to be purchased as a compliment to GMK Laser, it will also work with other GMK keycap sets.

My keycaps are damaged and they are not as depicted from the renders, what gives? The renders give an idea of what they will look like. The keycaps are correct by manufacturing process. You can say they fit into the Cyberpunk theme which MiTo has envisioned.
My keycaps are lighter/darker than pictured, why? The shade of the color will depend on your lighting conditions. I did notice that the Dusk set was significantly lighter than MD's sample pictures and was unable to reproduce the exact colors as depicted even with professional equipment. Perhaps MD can comment on this.
@MiTo I understand that you are proud of your 'baby' and you would feel attacked by some of the other users. You should be careful with responding in hostility as it can only harm your credibility. The simple Q&A/FAQ you posted is enough to clear things up while remaining professional.

ChinguinThis right here. It's easy to be upset by all the negativity, but I think it's important to help explain GMKs process rather than attacking people who may just be unfamiliar with it. Massdrop is a fairly wide reaching community and isn't exclusively keyboard enthusiasts. The mech community is supposed to be known for it's helpfulness, so lets try and display that here.

Thank you very much for the small sum up, it definitely helps as I'm having a bit of hard time communicating this time. I'm genuinely surprised/shocked about the amount of newcomers we had this time, I didn't expect the inflow of new customers on such a high frequency, so some of the reviews and post-delivery comments definitely caught me off guard.
That was my mistake and I acknowledge and take responsibility for it. Assuming that everyone would get things right of the bat, on such peculiar and innovative project. Lesson learned. I will assume less and work harder on the presentation and communication next time. We have veterans and newcomers here, information should be clear and straightforward to both groups.

I actually already made a Q&A/FAQ as you suggested (two days ago):

Please don't get me wrong, there's no pride involved in my craft. My love, pride and dedication is for the community, I take pride in the interactions and connections I establish with you fellow enthusiasts, every time I bring more people together in the hobby. I don't take pride in the products themselves. What I enjoy about this hobby is the journey and not the destination, the process of helping others. This doesn't mean I don't value the final product, again don't get me wrong. The final product is as important to me as the experience I serve to the community. I don't measure efforts to deliver the best products I can and this won't ever change, but there's no pride and therefore I don't feel attacked. Like I said above what I feel is genuine shock. I didn't expect that people would expect a different product.

MiToI think the amount of newcomers is due to this being a $16 add on kit that was a separate drop from the main laser drop. These two things make it a lot more accessible than a full $200+ set like the main laser drop easily was. People may not have even known that GMK Laser was a thing and subsequently missed the "Let's make things clear" blog post (I didn't see it and I bought laser, haha). I guess next time someone does an innovative project like this, it would be a good idea to summarize the vision behind it in the overview of the drop to avoid confusion.

EnsaumBasically this. I think this is the main problem here. Not your fault, people just don't read.
