Howdy Commanders!
The Godspeed MT3 PBT keycap set is finally ready for lift off! I've been working in this project for a little while and I am confident that this will be the best version of Godspeed ever made. From the materials used, dye sublimation precision and keycap colors, I am making sure all aspects of the project are on point so it will be remarkable. You can inspect pictures of prototypes down in my render page.
The kits are designed aiming for optimal compatibility without compromising the final price, there are hundreds of combinations possible with 4 different Alpha kits, 4 different Modifier kits and several styles of novelties ranging from planets to international accents. The Minuteman ties everything together with innovation and style. For those who are not very interested in high profile keycaps, but still love the PBT material, there's this unique and versatile kit available. The Minuteman is the first full glow in the dark keycap set ever made and it looks truly awesome paired with RGB or without.
This will indeed be a truly special version of the Godspeed project so thanks for checking it out!
If you have any questions please drop me a line.
Godspeed!
FAQ:
> Is Godspeed MT3 colors going to look the same as Godspeed SA/XDA?
No, these three keycap sets have completely different colors and aren’t supposed to match or reproduce one another. They are all independent designs of the same theme.
> Is there a render gallery showing what the keyset looks like with different combos/keyboards?
> Is the Vortex Race compatible with the Apollo/Ares kits?
Unfortunately not, molds for 1.5u R0 keycaps do not exist. If you are okay with using whatever other 1.5u at the positions of ESC and DELETE, than it is. The Minuteman is fully compatible, however.
> Why the Minuteman kit even exists, why a DSA kit in a MT3 drop?
Because I believe the aesthetic and style of the GID effect taking place on DSA keycaps ties the space theme together as it reminds me of flying saucers and UFO ships. On top of that, if a particular community member isn't interest in a high profile set of Godspeed keycaps there will be this option especially designed for him/her to enjoy, which again is extremely special and unique.
> What kits do I need for my keyboard?
Please refer to the mockups and if you are still unsure drop me a line and I will get back to you.
> Is the 6u spacebars center stemmed?
Yes.
> Is the Filco MiniLa covered?
Yes, you only need the Solar Alphas/Rams/Kobe/Kadet plus Exotic.
> Why is the keycap set designed with R4 bottom row?
It is the traditional look of the 70's beamsprings and the majority of users find it extremely comfortable to use (me included despite the fact I normally enjoy flat profiles). The Ortho/Ergo kits feature a R5 bottom row, however, because the community asked and because they felt more comfortable during my tests and simulations with the keycaps.
MiTo>"The Ortho/Ergo kits feature a R5 bottom row, however, because the community asked and because they felt more comfortable during my tests and simulations with the keycaps."
I prefer R5 but don't use ortho/ergo. Why not create another kit just for R5 bottom row?
DogeAmazeThanks a lot for the heads up, hope you are enjoying the MT3 profile overall. It is truly awesome in my opinion and the more you use the better it gets. As for your question, duplicating the bottom row would result in at least 5 new kits (this is the better solution, considering all the ones that I can foresee, on average) because we have 4 sets of modifiers and the novelties logos, etc. Simply not doable and would make the kits' distribution complicated and anti efficient, when it comes to price you pay per keycap used.

http://mitormk.com/godmt3Bear in mind the Cyrillic ENTER novelty cap will have поехали (like seen on the Space Race child kit) instead of what I rendered in my page. That's a mistake I have to fix but couldn't finish yet.
MiToOn a more serious note, thematically the text mods is awesome, but then Rams + Micons combination looks so clean - and you know my love for the Micons. AHHHH I can't decide ==!
eapdangAlways happy to see you around with the Laughing Logo man, hah! And thanks a lot for checking this project as well, what can I say, the support is so appreciated... Take your time my man, we've got plenty of time, head over to the gallery! What keyboard would you slap these on by the way, maybe I can suggest!

MiToI have your website bookmarked long ago :P Been hawking over the project page, MD talk post & unofficial Keebtalk thread as well. I have 2 keyboards (a Galaxy Console Norbatouch & a Tactical Black Norbaforce) *and hopefully a future HHKB 2019 refresh* and I like to have a rotation of keycaps to swap every so often. Like right now I'm typing on a "franken" Laser set (Gaijin + Blocknet + Mitowaves + HKP Laser spacebar), so when Rams alphas was revealed for this drop I thought that was it, Rams + Micons (Apollo ofc). Then the more I browse the more I like the text mods but text mods + Rams just doesn't look right to my eyes and the normal alphas is kinda bland to me.
P/S: now you know I'm a sucker for rubber dome, Norbauer and you :P
thousand56You’ll need one of the alpha kits (Solar Alphas, Rams, Kobe or Kadet) plus one of the ortho kits (Apollo or Ares, depending on your colour preference). That’s your starting point. From there, you can customise. If you wanted, you could add some of the novelties kits (Novelties or Micon accents), or the 2u spacebar kit for some different coloured spacebars. Just watch out, since the Planck only has R2-R5, so the Space Race kit won’t help you out! And unfortunately, the render of the Planck with a Mitonaut in the top row also isn’t possible, since there are no R2 Mitonauts :(
MiToI kinda like that you included bigger sets togheter (e.g. 1.75u inside base mods).
Only thing i don't like and i think is a mistake is ACCENTS. The enter 2.25 GODSPEED yelow and 1 ESC yellow are not included in the base kit but in the novelties kit, so i have to buy another $40 set and honestly without these 2 accents the whole godspeed set doesn't make any sense.
Gmk chocolatier did the same, not including the main accent that makes the set a must. Personally i skipped the entire gmk chocolatier because i was bothered to buy the novelties set just to give any sense to the main set.
I think there are particular sets that without the main 2/3 accents keys don't looks good at all, this is imho one of these.
MiToThis last minute switch to ortho R5 really makes it hard to get a good micon layout. I don't know what to pick now to fill out an Iris.
Is R4 the same as R3 upside down?
liorsa01It looks like you should be covered with just the base+mods. I couldn't tell from the layout (https://kbdfans.cn/products/dz60-60-pcb) what size that split right shift was, but it seems like it should work.
MiToCan you provide us with roughly the colors used? I am possibly looking to have a case powder coated to match one of the colors, so it would help a lot
andythecaoUnfortunately I don't have a code, we are developing a library of colors based on previous projects and fine tuning (adjustments) by request. I don't have a precise answer about what was the color used as reference but you can go ahead and take a keycap for example once you grab it and color match as close as possible!
MiToYup I've already grabbed my set. Can't wait for it to get here.. Godspeed
On another note, are you guys aiming for a specific texture for the PBT? Rougher or smoother side?
MiToBeautiful work as always.
I can't help but notice that the renders depict a Micons ortho friendly setup:
https://mitormk.com/gmt3renders/#jp-carousel-4153
Is this something you're intending to add to the drop or just an idea that didn't make the cut?
MiToAny chance of adding an additional 1u R3 key to the modifier sets? That's the only thing missing for full Planck coverage with alphas+mods(+2u spacebars). If not I guess R2 is the same as R3 if I flip the key, so I can get by with that.
FonderPrismThere is a separate modifier set for planck. Why make the cost of the base mods more for everyone else to satisfy a requirement that is already fulfilled separately? And cannibalise potential sales and price drops of the planck kit?
If you want to do that, just buy mods + novelties and use the R3 from the novelties.
JoshimitsuBecause I'm already getting alphas+mods, so I was hoping I could get decent Planck coverage as well without having to spend $40 on another kit. There are a lot of Planck users out there, so getting coverage for that by including a single 1u key seems worth it to me.
The Ortho kit has the elusive R5 bottom row, and will give you perfect Planck coverage with just alphas+ortho, so I don't think my suggested change will affect sales of ortho kits significantly.
FonderPrismSo that assumes you are only wanting to use the 60% mods, and then fill a planck separate. Again, this is an incredibly niche request and you are expect hundreds of other people to pay for an extra key they don't need so that you don't have to buy the proper kit?
Are you really going to fill out two godspeed boards and not buy the novelties?
Joshimitsu> expect hundreds of other people to pay for an extra key they don't need
The same argument goes for every key not in a standard TKL layout, so I don't really see that the Planck is anything special. The kit already has a lot of extra keys to support a variety of different boards.
I realize that the cut-off has to be set somewhere, so I merely wanted to point out that only a single key is missing for decent Planck coverage in the standard mods kit.
I'm only going to buy a single set of alphas. I have a tendency to swap around boards and keycap sets regularly, so it's nice to have as many options as possible.
The novelties don't really do anything for me, so I'm getting a Milky Way kit instead.
FonderPrismNovelties has two red R3 1u, so you could use those for plank-style Escape. I personally prefer to have " in alpha color on that row, so the 1u R3 in the mods kit is enough for me, as in the renders.
NoletiI must have had a complete brain fart while looking at the kits, because that is my usual way of arranging my orthos as well..! I guess that's what I get for not using my orthos that often. I'll go stand in the corner for a while.
MiToAwesome work and congrats on getting this off the ground! I've taken a look at the description, FAQs, and renders and have an idea of the kits I'd like to order.
Question: I have a pok3r 60%. I'm interested in a couple kits, a milky way, set of mods, and novelties. The way Massdrop has set up the order form, is it possible to order multiple "additional kits," without purchasing multiple sets of alphas?
Thanks!
MiToWell, for the one who uses mainly thumb to hit bottom row keys, it will get very painful very fast while hitting those R4 corners. Flat bottom row is much better option for real use.
salaIt may be better “for real use” for you, but I think not everyone agree. In fact the majority of the community members disagree with what you said, me included, considering the internal data we have, hence why we are offering the traditional sculpt. Assuming you have a popular keyboard 60/TKL you probably only use your left thumb to hit the left ALT anyways. Bummer that this profile bothers you hope you find aesthethics and the ideal profile for you!
MiTo@MiTo yes, I was referring to the ortho mod row. The figure you linked does not show R5 for the ortho/ergo kits. I think some people (including me) are not sure if R5 is flat and lower as R4 (as in /dev/tty MT3, in the image I linked), or if they are a steeper version of R4 (similar to how R0 is steeper than R1). I expect it will be the former (I am typing on /dev/tty ortho right now), but it might help people to have a profile figure like the one you mentioned, only for the ortho with R5 (and likely no R0, potentially even no R1, e.g. for planck). MT3 is still an uncommon profile, so not everyone knows the profiles by heart. Thanks!
DogeAmaze/dev/tty (1+2) is on my daily driver. How can I ever go back to flatter keys?! I use R5, might have to switch that row out and test the alternative if there is to be no R5 for Godspeed.
I wouldn't mind a drop with only R5 actually... or only the homerow-profile. Heh, a set with only the extra deep dish of the F and J would be nice too.
MiToThanks for another great set! But I need a 6u off-centered spacebar for my C70... :(
Just to reiterate, the colors on the alphas and Ares Mods will look like the renders, not the prototypes, correct?
MiToI appreciate how long you're keeping this drop open for. Of course, everybody wants them as quickly as possible. But the production times should remain the same either way, I would think. Therefore, it's really helpful that you're keeping it open for as long as you are. Gives us plenty of time to plan, decide, and get that over time in at work!
Remember, people will literally lose days off and go in to work, just because we love your work so much (: Keep it up @MiTo, you make people happy.
MiToI mainly use 40% (jd45, not ortho) so there is much more regularly used keys on bottom row. But I have to agree that aesthetics of R4 bottom row is bit nicer, but for real use flat bottom row is much better (maybe few ever remember the flipped space-bar trend and as that in mind, I'd go even further and say: flipped R4 bottom row might be even better for real use).

The legend design is finalized now I am focusing on the colors, already analyzed a 2nd batch and we are adjusting!
MiToHi MiTo, is it possible to display a render for a 60% where the number row is Lunar Milky Way?
I can't decide between Lunar and Apollo Milky Way and was wondering what that would look like.
MiToHey @MiTo , will the alphas be more of a beige color versus the dev tty keyset ? I wonder if the alphas would go well with the dev tty triumph mods set ... I like the legends & color of the Godspeed alphas more :)
Thanks
AdrianManGodspeed and Dev/Tty aren't aesthetically compatible. The colors, typeface/legend thickness and style is completely different. You can see that by looking at the prototype below. Dev Tty is thick and kinda blurry, whilst on Godspeed the type is clean and light.
Godspeed Prototype (disregard keycap color, this is a legend sublimation sample):
buckcherryHello Commander! Swap Apollo Ergo for Novelties and you’re go, Ergo is for Ergodox keyboards, not full size. Let me know if you require further guidance!
MiToHi MiTo,
I was wondering if you have pictures of the Glow in the dark DSA minuteman keycaps without the glow? I'm wondering how yellow or white it would look like. From what I found online, some say that the glow-in-the-dark PBT is "good solid looking bright white" when not glowing?
MiToMito, what color are you doing for the legends on the MT3? One thing that I felt looked better on XDA Canvas vs XDA Godspeed was the crispness of the legends. This happened because you went with pure black on Canvas vs a grey tone (If i recall something like 80% black) on Godspeed. Is that going to be the same for the MT3?
I'm looking at the XDA Canvas I just got in the mail next to my XDA and I'm really having hope you're going with a pure black legend on these to make the legends more crisp.
HerpDerpenbergBlack, you can scroll all the way down here and check the FAQ and final legends pictures right above the FAQ section. These legends are final and I’m focused on keycap colors now.

MiToThis set looks incredible!
I have a Cooler Master Keys Pro L Keyboard.
Which combo do I need to purchase for this keyboard with this (https://i.imgur.com/nV6DRIQ.png) colorway?
RichardReyesThank you for the kind words boss, happy you like these designs! For the CMK Pro L you'd need:
Alphas + Apollo Mods + Apollo Numpad + Novelties
Let me know if you require further guidance!
MiToSo excited for this one. I’m also excited for my Pulse turquoise keyboard! I wish I would receive that first before this so I can put Minuteman on it (I have a feeling it will look fabulous).
I’m wondering though if the Micon Apollo mods will look good on that turquoise keyboard as well? I’m more on the Apollo side for this drop. 😉
rowieOh you joined that one, thank you so much for the support, that keyboard is indeed a tanky boi. I hope it blows you away once it comes! I think the colors may clash a little to be honest, but the Minuteman will look bomb with all that RGB and stuff. I think the Apollo Micons will look okay, sadly I can't properly render it but at the end of the day I think you can't go wrong with those.
MiToThanks for the quick reply! At least the Minuteman will look “bomb” so I’m excited about that. Thankfully I have some silver and black Keebs I can pair Apollo with and also keebs that have no rgb that could use some Apollo loving. As always your drops are fun. Have a blessed upcoming new year. Feels fab to end my mech year with MT3 Godspeed.
rowieAnytime mate, hope you have tons of fun, black/silver is indeed an awesome frame for the Apollo. Likewise, Happy Holidays and warm wishes to you and your family! <3
MiToOne question, in the Exotic kit there's a "R1" 1.5u "erase" key. Shouldn't that be a R2 cap? There's no 1.5u cap spot in R1, but R2 would make sense cus that's where it should be for a HHKB layout backspace.
cjt9000The keycap you mentioned is included in this kit for the UHK (Ultimate Hacking Keyboard) layout. The 1.5u R2 backspace/delete is already included in the basic modifier kits (Apollo/Ares Mods/Micons).
MiToMakes sense. I was hoping it was just in the wrong spot as I use a reprogrammed Minira with the backspace on R2 instead of R1 and didn't want to have to buy a whole standard modifier set so that I can have that one key, as it's the only one missing for my layout.
MiToThat's one small step for MT3, one giant leap for our keyboards.
Congrats on a successful drop, MiTo! And here's hoping for an equally successful landing!
MiToI know this is a long shot, however I still want to know a concrete answer for this. Will there be extras available? specially the colevrak , ergo dox, and base/alphas kits? thanks
zidGProbably yes - search "Massdrop Keycap Recap" and hit "Request". Warning you will have to be quick if you want a popular set - e.g. base/alphas will likely go quick.
zidGI don't imagine they are going to change the way they do it any time soon. I wouldn't rely on the email notifications anyway, just check back on the recap page occasionally and when a new one is due they post the date/time it goes live there, I think. Then make sure you are on at that time and fast at clicking :)
If not just wait for the inevitable influx on /r/mechmarket or wait for R2 I guess.
MiTo@MiTo -- thank you for another great set. Do you anticipate a re-cap for these?
(I ordered a few kits, and somehow forgot to include mods or micons, so I can't use them... 🤦😭Hoping for a re-cap, so I can get mods!)
MiToHi there,
I accidentally forgot to purchase a modifier keyset. Does this keyset usually redrop every year or is this something that may never reoccur? Any alternate solutions for my conundrum?
nas3030It really depends on the number of votes or requests it gets for it to be dropped again (make sure you hit the request button), and it also depends on MiTo. From what I gather MiTo is about ready to try and make new different things. Generally, it can take another year for this to be re-dropped if there is enough votes (so far the community does not know what that threshold is for any drop to be run again), safe bet to get them sooner is to look at r/mechmarket but it will not be cheap or make a post there with a trade or offer.
nas3030I don’t have any plans to recreate this project nor any of my other PBT/dyesub designs ever again, regardless of the number of requests. I’ve been spending way too much time and effort with that and I’m pretty tired. I am now focused on new, fun and interesting things, you can keep track by visiting my website of following me on Instagram for example (@MitoRmk). There is only one project (ABS) that I plan to re-run but other than that I will invest myself in new ideas and that only.
MiToHow exciting! I can’t wait to see new and different things from you. Hoping the last abs rerun project you’ll ever do is Godspeed SA. It’s the last item I’m missing from you. Consider me a Mito Keyluminati follower. Cant wait for GMK Mitolet for the time being.
