Hello astronauts, welcome to the Godspeed XDA drop page!
You can see the available kits on the drop description and you can read the small FAQ that I've put together below. I'm going to be working on a keyboard compatibility list/essential kits for coverage based on the most popular form factors, manufacturers and layouts so stay tuned for that as well.
There are many renders and different combinations of kits displayed on my website (link below), but I'll be working on more. We are going to add 40%, Planck, 96% and other form factor renders in the upcoming days as well, so stay sharp for that!

FAQ:
> What typeface will be used for the dyesub process?
The exact one seem on the renders.
> How thick are XDA PBT keycaps?
About 1.3 mm thick.
> Are the Godspeed XDA PBT and Godspeed SA keycaps interchangeable?
If you don’t mind using keycaps with completely different profiles at the same time, then yes.
> Are the colors used on Godspeed XDA PBT the same ones used on Godspeed SA?
No, the colors are different as Godspeed XDA PBT is slightly more subtle/pale, as seen on the renders.
> Was there a prototype at the Seattle Meetup?
Yes, this keycap set has been in the works for a while and we started sampling prior to the drop. Our manufacturer produced a proof of concept for the typeface thickness. The orange keycap is not the Ares orange, a random orange keycap was used. We are making the necessary adjustments so the final product will have pristine alignments, colors, etc.
MiToWishing you the best of luck yet again, I'm sure this will see the success it deserves! You already know how I feel about all of it.
Very excited for the 1st!
MiToHey @MiTo , will the hooming keys be fixed?
As you may know the only one issue with XDA keys are the hooming keys (F, J, ...) because they aren't sculpted/deep enough, will you guys fix the hooming keys this time or stick with the old no-deep keys?
MiToI mean that the homing keys on a normal XDA set (aka i have XDA blanks) is not deep enough, definitely not deep enough to instantly recognize the homing. Not reporting my opinion only, i saw tons of people reporting the same issue on reddit.
You can easily see this even comparing other keycaps which uses deep-homing keys (no nipple-no bar), for example DSA and SA, you can clearly see the difference between these keys and XDA keys.
imho (and apparently not only my opinion) XDA is really a good set, perfect for my taste, but it has only this big issue, homing keys!
jkaos92Hm, I see what you're talking about. That's something a little more complicated and I'm not entirely sure I can enforce this change but I can for sure let them know and hopefully they improve the design in the future.
MiToWell, thanks for the info, not a reason to skip the set or this GB but please let them know for future GBs :)
I believe they know already but better be sure about that. DSA scoops could be a nice starting point to make a good homing key, they are pretty similar after all.
Thanks MiTo!
MiToThe Probe Dishes set is scooped homing keys for Dvorak, Colemak, & BÉPO, correct? Are the F, J, & 5 keys scooped in the base sets? Why aren't F & J in this set - scooped if not already in the base, and non-scooped if they are? I assume the 5 in this set is the opposite of what it is in the base set, correct?
MiToCan you add non-scooped F & J to complete the Probe Dishes set?
I use Dvorak, so I'd like non-scooped F & J to go with the scooped U & H in the Probe Dishes set. Colemak & BÉPO users would also want them.
The 5 key makes sense now, thanks!
dvorcolNon-scooped FJ are included in Alphas already!
We have non-scooped and scooped FJ keycaps included in Alphas, look at the right corner of the render and you'll see the scooped ones!
MiToOh, I see them now. I looked twice before asking about it, but I guess I didn't expect to find them with the numeric keypad in the Alpha sets.
Sorry for my confusion, and thanks for your quick replies. It looks like it's going to be another great drop!
MiToOne more observation: your Apollo set renders are showing a "ROW" key next to "PITCH" & "YAW". But it should be "ROLL", as your keyboard renders correctly show. This is just an error in the Apollo renders, correct? If it's too late to fix these renders, you might want to call it out in a note near them.
MiToAre you talking about the one that is on the right? I don't see any on the lower left.
If so, I was talking about adding an extra one. To help those that want to use ISO but the US one.
MiToI'm sure this has been asked and answered... but is there a guide to all the abbreviations? I've done a solid half hour of searching and I can't find anything. Thanks!
EDIT: I'm wondering about the legend abbreviations on this set (EDL, RCS, etc.)
Yeah I agree, it should be an half way, not too deep, not too flat.
The problem with this is that the hooming key yeah is slightly deeper than normal keys, but not enough to do the job properly, aka insta-realize where homing keys are. I'm typing on XDA blanks, i can understand these homing, but is not always easy and fast (also should be an easy fix)
That's actually the one I do know: I saw @MiTo mention on a Reddit thread (that of course I can't dig up now) that it was short for "malfunction" and that the rest of them have some basis in NASA terminology as well.
MiToHey MiTo, first of all thank you for your AWESOME work ! Next, I had a question, I know that you said the colors were close to Canvas on your blog but did you change them since then or are they the same, especially the beige ?
Thanks
MiToHi, I love that set on the 60%. But I cannot picture it on an ergodox. Any chance you could produce a rough rendering of both color set ? I need a change of my dull all white set :D thanks
MiToDude I love your work and all but it's rude not to answer, especially to such a simple question : Does the beige from this set match the beige from the Canvas set, to help me and I'm sure many others, decide with which color we'll go with, thanks
PS: Don't take me wrong, I'm not trying to be an asshole, I just really don't wanna do a mistake by ordering a color that won't perfectly match you know, cheers
gawrI didn't skip you intentionally, I'm trying to answer to everyone but there are hundreds of replies on multiple forums, e-mails and all sorts of stuff. I'm only one.
The color is not a 100% match with Canvas.
MiTo Estimated ship date is Feb 27, 2018PT. ?
I would have assumed that with the issues from XDA Canvas sorted out this will actually arrive faster than Feb 27, 2018?!
MiToAny chance of a 1.75u shift in a smaller set than Tsangan? That's the only key I need from that set (WhiteFox struggle), but I'm not sure if it's worth $27.99
kamisamamizuWould you also happen to know if I would need to order any of the extra space bar sets for the TXCP or will the standard one in the alpha set fit?
Thanks.
OmegaSupremeWell, I think the txcp can have two types of bottom row. I think you can have a 1.25-1.25-1.25-6.25-1-1-1, 1.25-1.25-1.25-6.25-1.5-1.5 and 1.5-1.5-7-1.5-1.5, if you're using the last one, you will need the spacebars kit.
kamisamamizuGot it! So if I just order the extra "Space Bar" kit I should be covered for the scenarios you mentioned? I would need to order the "Odd" and "Mini" ones correct?
Thank you so much for your help!
MiToOkay, I just saw Feburary and was like damn that's a long time. In all honesty I am not 100% sure how it all works in details, I just didn't know it was a 7 month+ process.
Thanks!
MiToWhy BÉPO is not included in this Drop?
http://bepo.fr/wiki/Dossier_de_presse_normalisation
Sorry it's in french but here you have the history of the BÉPO, more and more people uses BÉPO and this standard takes time to be included by industrials. Maybe it will never be taken into account by them. This Drop can resolve this lack.
Is it too late to include this schema?
If no, I am sure that a lot of french will love your job and they will be pleased to share your work.
If yes, I understand and it could be a objective for the next drop to include BÉPO in order to answer the customer needs.
Thank you
MiToThey look amazing, I was wondering if you could post the height profiles for the keycaps? I prefer low (Cherry) profile. I see the SA and DSA comparison picture and can infer some from that, but exact numbers would be nice! Thanks!
AdrienBepoDude I'm french and won't support it, it needs way too much work for what it is. I read very quickly but if I understand correctly, this layout was created for and only for french people, so how many of us do you think that are willing to buy keysets, now tell me what is the % of those people that uses enongh Bepo to invest in a keyset made for that very layout ?
gawrYes dude, sure bépo is quite young and there are not a lot of persons who use this schema I agree with you.
I personally use it since 1 year and it's quite comfortable now according to a bit of work.
Also as there is a big lack on this young standard, I understand that it's not attractive for the moment.
But,… but this drop could be a good beginning to promote the bépo. There is an active community http://forum.bepo.fr/ so I can say «Hey guys there are bépo keycaps made by MiTo!» on this forum.
gawr, I learn bépo because I didn't type well with an azerty meaning I was always watching my fingers, and I searched a manner to improve that. Now I type without watching my fingers on an ortho keyboard with blanc keycaps. AZERTY is a non sens for me.
It's difficult at the beginning but it's the future ;-)
AdrienBepoconsidering there is trouble getting people to buy into international layouts in the first place what makes you think that a niche layout for a single iso language standard? its just not going to happen.
AdrienBepoYes I agree with you, Azerty IS a non sense, I learned Qwerty and Workman because of that BUT you don't seem to see my point, creating a set costs money and you need buyers to repay that amount of money, but you said it yourself, Bepo is young and there is only little interest in that layout. So why would MiTo favor you, and specifically you and make your kit when others with different layout from many other countries would love that too ?
MiToHey man, sorry to repeat my question. But maybe you missed it. Any chance of getting a preview of the ergodox set? I joined the drop. But it would be nice to confirm which color would work best. Thanks.
MiTo" ALL KITS ARE BEING MANUFACTURED PER ORDER, THERE'S NO MOQ (MINIMUM ORDER QUANTITY "
Ohhhhhhhhhhhh come on! Bring back the rune keycaps from Canvas then! Pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeease!
CyphreWhat is has to do with no MOQ - i would hope it means that since he has the design already, it wouldn't complicate things to add them as a kit for this set too. Wishful thinking I know :P
CyphreHoming keys:
QWERTY = F & J
Dvorak = U & H
BÉPO (French Dvorak) = E & T
Colemak & Workman = T & N
I'm not aware of another layout with E as a home key.
I didn't say the Godspeed XDA orange is the same as Canvas XDA orange, I said that we will precisely implement the orange you see on renders. My sticked post in this drop clearly states the following:
>

dvorcolYou're welcome, the talk section is not 100% intutive and it's easy to get lost. Sorry for not being able to make things more clear. Here's the part of the convo that matters. Have a nice weekend!
MiToAnyway I could buy one of those beautiful prototype lighter orange caps?
Or really any extras.
That would be amazing.
This is the first set of caps to get me addicted and I'd like to round up some extras of different colors.
Searching high and low on /r/mecanicalkeyboards and where ever I can find a lead.
Love your work, hoping for Godspeed XDA round 2 and everything else you release. :)
