Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. Any chance to show Supernova+Ares colorway, guess you're working with layers. Which software do you use?
Have a nice weekend
general response on the tracking comments: I don't think the color variations and light reflection differences between colors are as much of a concern as they used to be (if at all), as long as the pad material is consistent and higher quality. Additionally, I personally plan to use this in the office (architecture), so super-accurate tracking isn't as necessary for me compared to say a pro-gamer. I currently use NO pad at work, and the working surface has a marble texture with higher contrast than I'm showing, and I still have zero problems (MX518 and G502 mice). Of course pure black is the best possible choice, not going to deny that, but we can all make small sacrifices for a e s t h e t i c s right? ;)
