I have A/B'd a lot of different high end earbuds and these Kaiser 10s are just amazing. What a sweet deal this drop was.
It shows what a great company Noble is for including the Gold x Silver cable, even though they had a pretty good excuse for the shipping delays.
You didn't have to include it, but you did, but you did, but you did... and I thank you!
DovahkiinIt's a WM1A. I got the balanced cable with the Kaiser 10s but forgot I needed a 2.5 to 4.4 adapter to plug it in. Curious if I can tell the difference between balanced and unbalanced.
dotcomeeI'm curious too. I've got the 2.5 to 4.4 pentacon adapter from moonaudio. Now I'm just waiting for the K10s and my next paycheck to pick up one of the Sony DAPs. Do you find your's mobile enough ?
The only cable I could find with an angled (and small, non-DIY looking) 4.4mm plug. Seller only had one with MMCX connectors on it and I asked if they had 2-pin and they did and put it up for sale a few days later. And the 2-pin connectors are similar to the mini ones Noble uses on their cable, not the larger DIY type on most other cables. From a fit and finish perspective it's certainly the best option. Dunno if it's a good quality cable but adapters are annoying and it's not very expensive.
DovahkiinIt's bulky for sure, it's not something I carry around in my pocket all that often, but I throw it my carry on/backpack while travelling and it's portable enough. I'm old enough to remember when sound this good required a lot heavier gear. :)
rodizzleThe Vegas I have are incredible given their size. Warm, colourful and spacious. I have yet to receive the Nobles so I'm waiting on comparing them. The Vega+Mojo has a LOT more Soundstage than a pair of SE846+Mojo, whereas the SE846 has a bit more oomph in sub-base. Hope this helps.
DovahkiinI feel like there's so many factors. I've never tried the Vega or Andromeda IEMs. I liked the SE846s when listening to rap/hip-hop, but that's about it, otherwise I feel they sound too muddied. Lots of people would argue otherwise.
I've had a pair of W60s for a long time, but I never thought they were THAT great until I got my WM1A and the pair sounded beautiful together (at least to my ears).
Kaiser 10s take the soundstage and clarity to another level. On better recordings I feel like I can hear much better articulation on how the musicians are playing their instruments. Picking up more subtle variances (mistakes?) ;).
I guess by me liking W60s and now the Kaisers, I would say my tastes are more on the hyper accurate reproduction with some warmth to balance things out. I'm not missing tube amps and vinyl at all.
dotcomeeIt's a nice little cable and does have memory wire but it sounds ...dull. High-end isn't nearly as clean and clear, bass is a hair more prominent, otherwise disappointing. Good thing they're cheap, I'll probably stick with the 3.5mm unbalanced cable. Sadly.
dotcomeeOh no I apologise! It's not *horrible,* it's just not the sound I prefer, which is the stock cable strangely enough. I made it sound like a huge difference but it isn't, I was just disappointed overall and that came across too strong. You may very well love it!
More than the sound, I don't like the gumminess of the cable; when I turn my head it pulls on my shirt, and there's a lot more cable noise too.
VangeliMaybe you can try other ear tips, don't use silicon ones... when I try silicon ear tips even change to spinfit ones , I also disapopointed the sound too, but when I use the memory foam ones, ALL sounds AMAZING !
