After using them a few days - and adding a balanced cable from Moon Audio to the mix - my goodness do they sound fun for the money. And the bass really shows - with a nice seal (for me the large silicones do the trick) it is such an engaging and fun earphone. I cannot stop raving about it. Best $249 (besides the HD6XX) - I have ever spend in audio on massdrop!!
UPDATE: Balanced from my Hifiman or from Liquid Carbon - OMG! they rock. I love these - amazing quality. Recently changed my amp card on my HM901 from balanced to Elfidelity balanced and wowza. Even better. Unbelievable. Really can't believe the bass these things produce for a dual armature. Lovely.
