2140 posts. Can't be read on a phone before phone is thrown thru the window. I need to know just one thing ... is the Kung Fu strong with these?

m8omanThey are good, but I think the expecations are very high for these because of the Noble name. Takes quite a bit of fiddling with various ends to find the right sound. I didn't like them out of the box. Took several days and trying many tips (took some from some Sony earbuds) to find one that seals good and doesn't interfere with the sound quality. I don't regret my purchase, but these are likely my last IEMs. For the same amount of money, headphones sound so much better.
I'm probably the last person that should be giving suggestions about these. The sound initially out of the box is thin and hollow as if missing an entire range of low end frequencies. But after a several hours and experimentation with various tips to find a good seal, the sound does balance out. The Noble X is more responsive than my T1 and HE-400i running off of my AK KANN. But does seem to still lack spaciousness and musicallity that I was hoping to find. They aren't bad and for $250 I am not disappointed, but I have also spent $60 for a very nice pair of AKG K240 Studio that are now well broken in. Given the right conditions, I will always take the AKG K240 over the Noble X. The Noble X to me seems to lack too much sound stage for me to very happy with them. But, hey for a portable solution sitting in public or out and about, I'd buy them again for $240. I'm just not going to expect any IEM to sound like a pair of full size STAX, Sennheizer, or Audeze.

SK1968Right. You cant expect spaciousness from a set of IEMs. With burn-in time >50 hours, you might find musicality.
These things look.... HUGE. The female model couldn't even get the eartips into her ear canals. Are they? HUGE?

TiffanyPoodleslideI don't know if they are any bigger than similar class Universal IEMs. I do have a little trouble keeping them positioned optimally if I am moving about. Sitting down somewhere and enjoying music, they do stay put. They are very light weight and routing the cable over your ear does help stabilize them. If you are on the fence, I'd take a chance on them. They do sound good. I am sure you have read the thread on Head-fi.com. If not, the president of Noble provides a lot of good information in the thread. The strong demand for additional drops is a good sign that generally many are happy with these IEMs. If the president "The Wizard" hadn't written that the next step up from the X is the $1800 Encore, I might be tempted to try one of their $1000 models, but then again, maybe I'll get LCD2s
