Here is my take on he EDC. You guys are in for a treat. Been listening them every single day I got them for this review and they surprised me with their sonics. IMO the best dynamic Nuforce has ever made even over their classic NE700. https://www.head-fi.org/f/showcase/edc-massdrop-and-optoma-nuforce.22407/ Enjoy the read.

I would assume so as all the other Nuforce Iems are all made in China.

Dsnutsthanks man. i'm extremely heavily considering these as a, well, every day carry, since my overears are pretty big in a bag, so i only wear them out if i intend to wear them the whole time. so a nice "backup" pair to live in my bag, so i can still have music even if i didn't plan ahead about my cans, would be excellent. plus this price point is, like, wow.
this is a long shot, but, have you ever tried aiaiai's tma-2 with "driver 3" option? i've had those for a few years now, and i like them because while they are absolutely capable of the thumping bass, they don't turn every somewhat low tone into massive bass indiscriminately, they only do it for what the artist clearly intended to be, yk?
i know the pair i currently use doesn't have a totally flat curve, though it is the most flat out of the multiple driver options that were offered. they still put a little kick into the bass and taper off the treble a little bit so the sound's not harsh. yk, not dramatically colouring the sound, but enough that it feels a little warm and friendly. it seems like these IEMs might be a pretty decent match (since i have a "type" of sound i like), but it'd be nice to know what you think if you did so happen to have tried out the tma-2.
you also mentioned good isolation, which is excellent, as sometimes i go out with my overears on but no music just to block out a lot of the outside noise. so it's nice to know these might be a good "backup" for that kind of thing too. (plus, much like you noticed about these IEMs, i find mine have the "open feeling closed headphone" thing going on, which is nice for keeping the outside out without the music feeling crowded.)
sorry if this message didn't make much sense, haha.

dolljointsI have never heard the Tma-2s but from what your describing these seem to be a right match for you. These aren't world beaters by any means but what they do right is have a good balanced sound but also has killer low end for on the go. Guys that have used earphones out an about will know what I am talking about but earphones with light bass on the go will be even lighter in the bass. Outside noise seems to drown out the low end the most. These are emphasized enough to counter this deadening effect. The isolation while not the best I have heard for in ears does a good job with music playing. The isolation is good enough where you can hear your music and not much going on out doors let me put it that way. I used them for cutting the lawn and it did an awesome job. I can actually enjoy the music I am listening to.
I have plenty of stuff that is higher end but I found out with outside noise factors higher end don't sound higher end. The point of these earphones is they have an excellent solid sound quality and are comfortable and light in the ear, easy to carry around in the included case or in your pocket. I think everyone that gets one will be happy with them . Especially for the price they are asking for these.

Dsnutsthat totally makes sense, and thank you for the prompt reply! i have found that my over-ear cans do sound a little weaker when i'm outdoors, but i didn't think too hard about it! you're right that it makes sense to emphasise the bass a bit more for outdoor listening, and i think you helped convince me :)

dolljointsYa these are very easy to recommend. The more I use them the more I appreciate what they do. The sound quality is outstanding and I have no idea how they managed to keep that sub bass with this type of balanced full sound. Props to the guys at Massdrop and NuForce for figuring this one out. These are brilliant and what is truly awesome , everyone can afford a pair.
