Jyri i bought similar headphones a few years back and when came the time to replace the wire.. it was a big pain to find replacements because it was no longer produced - and cables generally survive a couple of years. would suggest considering having replacement breaded cables available as part of the drop even if for a fee in a future drop (or have the cables with the mic breaded, then they also +- serve as replacement with similar advantages)

kangsterShould not be an issue to find the cables even after 5 years. The EDC and EDC3 can be used with third party cables and we should have inventory as well. We always keep spare parts. The mic cable has different structure and materials. We want to offer two cables with two different sound signatures. The mic cable will sound warmer and with more bass. The braided cable sounds more neutral and balanced.

StinkyTurdOn my (alas, lost!!!) HEM2's, I had switched over to use 3rd party cables; it was nicely compatible with 2 prong Westone cables.
Specifically, these ones are what I lost when the headphones wandered away on me :-( https://www.aliexpress.com/item/8-core-goddess-ocean-line-of-high-purity-silver-plated-headphone-upgrade-line-ie80-535-900/32449803244.html I went with what they called the "UE18 pin"; it was a nicely tight fit on the HEM2's.
I liked the braided cables that came with the HEM2's, and which come with these ones, unfortunately, they did not last well, which is a problem that a lot of people have reported.

cbbrowneTo briefly comment on the braided cable. We've actually strengthened the original HEM braided cable by making the surrounding silicone slightly thicker. EDC and EDC3 are using different braided cable - which is stronger than the HEM braided cable.

JyriI wanted to ask something related to the strength of the actual connection between the wire and the ear piece. I own the Nuforce EDC earbuds and I am having some problems with the ear buds themselves falling out from time to time and having to run all the way back retracing my steps to find it lying on the ground somewhere, but my question for you is, are there gonna be any enhancements made to this portion of the earbuds on future models?

JyriHi Jyri,
I was just wondering what the quality difference is between these two cables. And how does the mic cable produce a warmer sound and more bass? What do you think would be the best choice for sound quality overall? Does the mic cable make it sound more muddy and less clear?
Thanks!
