Hello, I just joined, primarily for the audiophile products. Looking at purchasing the NHT C3 speakers for our new living room. Space is about 15 feet wide by 33 long and they will fire long ways. Space is just for general listening, music room with all equipment is downstairs, so hoping they will fill it with sound nicely. Cheers.

Back then, i bought the triplefi for around US$400, and seeing how this $100odd IEMs meet my sound expectations, i give these a big thumbs up and 5 stars. Value wise, these will be my 1st recommendation. (Truly amazing how technology has priced itself down and good sq is more affordable to a broader audience). Package wasn't as impressive as UE,and the case is hard fabric (vs aluminum case for the triplefi) but it gets the job done. The EDC3 offers 2 types of comply tips (besides a host of silicone tips) while I remember the triplefi coming with just a single pair.
It's way more comfortable than the awkwardly large Frankenstein mimicking triplefi. With the EDC3, I can actually lie down sideways without it trying to push my brains out the other side.
The EDC has a tad more treble than triplefi and it is the opposite at the other spectrum: triplefi has more weight on bass notes than the edc3... heavy bass music listeners will not favor them as much... perhaps a different filter would change things?)
One more thing that I notice is that the small port where sound exits is a lot thinner than, the triplefi. Maybe this has something to do with the weaker bass?
Long story short, I have finally found my triplefi replacement as my dependable travel earbuds. (Still using my triplefi aluminum case, of course)
As some have said below, having a replaceable filter would be great and would make my interest in the Shure 846 obsolete.
But I can't sleep with the triplefi plugged into my ears like I did with the EDC3 last night.
I might still be used to the triplefi sound signature, but am fast getting used to these. :)
Now, if they made that filter replaceable like the higher end Shures, this will cater to a much broader audience.
Nope, I am still using the frustratingly easy to tangle twisted cable so far, but I think I'll swap out with the mic cable tomorrow. One thing though, it might tangle less, but the mic cable looks downright generic and cheap looking.
edit: confused myself with the mee audio m6 pro. The mic cable on the Nuforce EDC3 looks fine, am looking at it now. Might as well swap it out now and give it a test.
It's still my goto IEM's, plus it is also now my goto pods for phone calls.
I am overall really, really impressed with these.
If ever they offer a swappable filter system, I will join the drop. (I still feel that it could do with slightly more bass)
The bass isn't missing, it's my preference for a little more bass as I was used to the ue triplfi sound (a LOT darker and slightly more bass). Long story short, I still use the EDC3's daily and haven't touched my triplefi in over a month. :)
