Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Perhaps at some point in the future - we can take another crack at it!
DCS Sanctuary for example is one I am very sorry to have missed, I know the chances of that seeing the light of day again are minuscule, possibly even in the form of XDA as they are very fond of custom lettering/fonts, but I am sorry to see some of the past buys not having had quite made it.
Hell, even Elven struggled to meet MOQ when R4 Granite came around and look where it is nowadays, selling for literally 1000% of its initial price (or more, seen it go for as much as $350).
My 660C is modded with TMX sliders but I'm all for seeing another Topre custom succeed in the future!
