Hi Everyone! We’re so excited to announce this new drop in partnership with Peak to Plateau: The Yakino sweater and accompanying beanies and neckwarmers. All are made from the same yarns, a new blend of 50% yak wool and 50% merino wool, what we're calling yakino. We’ve been working with Peak to Plateau for months now to develop the concept of a yak wool sweater than offers the highest technical performance in wool and looks great for around town. Peak to Plateau founder Stefan Warnaar has been working with Tibetan families mostly in the Quinghai region of the Tibetan Plateau which is around 3000m+ high in elevation, where the yaks withstand harsh conditions like sleet and snow. Fiber collection happens once a year in the region in late Spring/early Summer, making securing these yarns challenging. Once collected, the yarns are dehaired to separate the coarse fibers from the finer fibers, which only produces about 15% usable fibers from the original harvest.  What makes yak wool great as compared to merino is that it’s up to 40% warmer, 66% more breathable, 17% faster at pulling water away from your skin, softer and just as strong at wicking and odor resistance. These are offered in unisex sizing, so women will want to size down one size when purchasing. Thanks! kim.suarezI don't understand the sizing. What is the chest measurement referring to? Are you just measuring the sweater across from seam to seam 1" below the arm hole? I'm 70" tall and have a 45" chest so I'm usually inbetween L and XL sizes and would like to get this sweater but don't want to get the wrong size and be out 100 bucks.
Gunnersmate2Yes, you are exactly correct. The measurement for the chest was taken from seam to seam 1" below armhole. Totally understand! This sweater is true to size, so I would recommend the Large. But it's up to you in terms of whether you prefer buying a little larger, or wearing true to size. Hope this helps!

kim.suarezThanks for clearing that up for me. Its always hard for me to buy clothes without trying them on, I always seem to be inbetween sizes.
Gunnersmate2I totally understand and am the same way. Just let me know if there's anything else I can help with. We have the medium here and I can always take photos on different people in the office, take videos, anything to help!

kim.suarezWhere can I find care instructions for the sweater? My package didn't seem to come with instructions.
RdabestThere is a tag inside the left side seam of the main body. The care instructions are to hand wash or to use the cool delicate cycle, wash inside out, use mild soap (Woolite for example), do not wring out, do not use bleach or a fabric softener, do not dry clean and do not tumble dry.
