If I am reading the specs correctly when comparing this to the current production Sprout from PS Audio: - MD headphones power output is diminished - MD speaker power output is increased There are other changes as well, but those are the ones I see in my myopic view considering my needs. Oh yes, how do you power it on and off? Do you loose your volume level and have the click the volume knob below 0 volume, or is the power a remote control function only?
Lastly, I think I see this retailing at $499 on the PS Audio site. MD has it set to drop at $599.99, unless I am missing something. Ideas on why the increased cost via MD?
Edit: adding PS Audio linkage - http://www.psaudio.com/sprout/
jugtreeHas optical and a remote. So now it's like one of those Teacs on crack (good).

jugtreeI'm curious to know if speakers and headphone play at the same time since technically they are both analog outputs. From looking at the pics its hard to say if you choose both or one. Maybe if you plug headphones in it mutes the speakers, idk.

jugtreeIt's literally called Sprout II. It says so in the title as well as like 5 different times throughout the description. "The Sprout II retains its predecessor’s all-in-one functionality(...)".
Why do you think the price is different?

VigrithHard to ever argue with a tittle...
datyetiThe headphone jack triggers a muting relay. When the headphone jack is vacant, the loudspeakers and subwoofer output are active. When the user inserts headphones into the headphone jack, the loudspeakers and the analog outputs and the subwoofer output automatically disable. Sound good? Thanks for the question!
