It's a shame they dropped the S/PDIF. I much prefer that to optical! Also, an HT/Bypass would have been a great touch for complete integration into a home system. On the other side of the coin, that black so sick.

HabitantI'm just wondering, is there an objective reason to prefer spdif over optical, or is it just your personal preference?

iatsbohdanThe optical IS spdif (Sony/Phillips digital interface format). spdif can be rca coaxial or optical toslink. I prefer coaxial because there is a greater variety of cables to choose from at different price levels. They are also less delicate than toslink optical cables. I can't speak to Habitant's preference.

HabitantNo coaxial input is very very sad.

iatsbohdanMore of my devices support S/PDIF than optical, the optical is great for the guy who wants to connect it to their T.V. though.
