I can’t tell, does this unit have variable audio outputs to control volume to active speakers?

bpuliYou wouldn't need this. Just buy a Pre amp or a DAC.

bpuliYes, Sprout II has variable audio outputs via the stereo RCA connectors on the back. Sprout II also offers variable audio output (channels combined) over the Mono-RCA connection. Thanks! -Scott

ScottMcGowanHi Scott. Is there any way to have the RCA outputs send a line-out signal instead of a variable signal? I'm hoping to use the DAC/amp in the Sprout II to power passive speakers, and use the RCA output to send a signal to a separate tube amplifier that has its own volume control.

thatsfinebutHi there, great question and thank you. While this feature would have been desirable as an option, we were not able to implement a fixed/variable selection with Sprout II. So, using the analog outputs, Sprout II will indeed be subject to the unit's master volume control. I hope we can make it work with your system and please reach out with any other questions!
