So here’s my problem. I feel we have been utterly dupped.
We backed this product, basicly financed the Sprout 2 and today the doorbell rings.... A brand new Sprout.
This sprout is the generic sprout 100 that is currently sold everywhere. For the same price as what I paid 6 months prior to help finance this project.
Not one extra sticker, not one particular difference between this and the 100 because it simply is a prout 100.
I feel like I just got shaffted, big time.
We paid full price on top of that. Not cool PS Audio, Not Cool...
I was not expecting this from a respectable company such as yours.

JamesCanadaGrace sells the M9xx as their M900, it's not all that out of the ordinary. PSaudio must have structured the deal so the distribution is not exclusive. You are always financing the creation of the product when jumping on a Massdrop collaboration in the 1st/early drops. There is nothing unethical about this business model, crowdfunding has exploded in recent years. Unethical is taking your money and not delivering which happens a TON with traditional crowdfunded ventures. Feel free not to participate but don't get all butt hurt about it.

To be honest I never said what they did was unethical, I simply am dissapointed to see this type of practice go down.
if I would have known, I would not have participated in the drop.

JamesCanadaYou insinuated foul play/unethical behavior by saying "I was not expecting this from a respectable company such as yours" that is very much calling their good standing in to question. In addition as far as I know the black color option isn't available anywhere but here so there is an aspect still exclusive to MD. Hate to break it to you but businesses try to make money, it allows them to pay their employees and grow the business. Your disappointment and multiple posts about it are unfounded.

Crowdfunding are clear, and early backers usually get a cheaper price for helping out.
I invested in an Audeze Mobius. I am Well aware of what I am getting into, i'm also happy to see that since I backed them early I got a nice discount. Not in this case. If our Sprout would have been 50-20-100$ difference I would have never said anything, because in my head that is the way crowdfunding works.
I don't agree with the Sprout one bit. I do not think it's fair practice to make us pay full price to be funding a project.
I was unaware Massdrop did these deals also. I tought they only purchased in bulk to help us reduce prices.
This does not mean the Sprout is a bad product.
I believe you are right about the black color. I think it is MD Exclusive. I'd like to know how many people got it in back.
Like I said, I learned from this.
