Gf gave me a spinner she got from Walgreens as a gift. I've never used one before and never saw the appeal of them tbh. I pretty much just keep it on the desk and spin it there.
Longer spin times would appeal to me, along with better build quality and better material. "then just get a spinning top" I like to have the option to pick it up and spin while holding onto it also.

FuhriousI love my tops but I am afraid of spinning them. Hand spinners are much easier to take around. You pull it out and start spinning. A top I need a flat even concave surface and no hard course floors nearby.
