Just want to share some random thoughts on this drop:
- Could it be the HD700 / HD660s driver in there?
- Massdrop's way of making 6XX owners buy yet another Sennheiser (in marketing terms, repeat purchase).
- Storage box omitted in favor of cheap packaging --> lower price than HD6XX without sacrificing quality --> everyone wins
- Really can't complain about the ship date. We're getting HD levels of performance at this price level. Just join drop, forget about it, be "surprised" when it arrives, and have fun with your new toy.
- For noobs taking their first step into the audiophile world, this is the way to go. (and save $50 vs. the 6XX) Don't obsess with the FR graphs, this will sound great if you're coming from your iPhone earbuds.
