Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. Massdrop has the final specs, and based off of their April update, they should also have a pallet of HD58x‘s sitting in their distribution facility. I don’t know what their strategy is by withholding the specs for so long. One update in 5 months?
I really would not be surprised to see this first production run take even longer than anticipated, and I, personally, am perfectly fine with that. I would rather that than be disappointed once they arrive because of something that got past QC. I don't imagine replacements would be readily available for a while either.
And hey, my 6xx are about to arrive anyway (today, 2 days early!), so I'm a happy man. Now if my Topping stack would just ship! Guess I'm about to see just how much a diff it makes over my ASUS onboard audio after all. Happy waiting y'all!
Yeah, I think a lot of us that ordered the 58x already have the 6xx.
I would say since you already have the 6xx, what's the big hurry on these? They'll be done when they're ready, and hopefully will be worth the wait. Just my $0.02. I know that probably doesn't help the frustration much, sorry.
What would be interesting to know though is how close to the delivery target the first production run of those was.
