nhatlam96Of course I can. In tonality the sound similar. The ELEX has more punch, refinement and dynamics. You have to know... before I owned the Elear and I sold it immediately as I knew the Elex will be released. ELEX sounds 98% of the clear, so it is a bargain, too.
HD58X definitively is superior to the Elear regardless of less dymamics... about 10 to 15 percent or so. For it's price currently the HD58X is the best pair of headphones you can buy if you like the tonality I described.

Is this true? With mids being such an important part of audiophilia if it's worse by a lot can you still recommend them?
Let's say HD650 mid levels are 10/10 from 1-10.
How would you rate the HD5X mid levels?

nhatlam96I'd have to disagree and state that the Elex is far superior to the 58X as an owner of both. The Elex has a much higher control of dynamics, imaging and separation. They also have a speed with transients that the 58X just cannot keep up with. Throw in the much better extension of the Elex and you have one of the best sub-$1,000 headphones to come out in recent years. Build quality and included accessories are also superior. The storage box is one of the nicest I have ever owned and the included balanced XLR cable is quality.
With all that said, I still do enjoy the 58X especially considering the price point. But comparing them to the Elex really isn't fair. I do however, like the 58X more than the 6XX. The 6XX is just too genre specific for me despite it doing some things better (great mids, fairly good imaging, etc). The 58X, while less technical, is a better all-rounder compared to the 6XX. The Elex is arguably my favorite all-rounder and so far, except for the heaviest of bass-y music, everything just sounds better with them.

jaydunndidditYou do not need to disagree. As I already said the tonality is very similar to the Elex but the Elex is superior in dynamics and transparency. If you like the Focal you will like the Jubilee. I never said that the Jubilee is in all aspects same or bettee than the Elex. But tonality is on both great. :)

jaydunndidditI have to say, I agree with your assessment 100%., as an owner of the same three headphones (58X, 6xx and Elex.) I'm really enjoying the 58x and, for the price, I think they're the best bargain Massdrop has offered. However, once I put my Elex back on, I'm reminded of why they're so good.

MLSensaireally really like the Jubilee. Having the Elex, the 6xx and the 58x, I still feel that to me I would put them in the order that they are priced. The 58x is an amazing deal and really like the bass extension but I still give very slight edge to the 6xx/650. Nothing to complain but to me the 58X have just a touch too much mid bass that make the signature, to my ears, sightly boomy. It's nitpicking here and I'm conscious of that. At this level it's taste and subjectiveness but I do enjoy the 6xx slightly more. Now for the Elex to me they are certainly superior, on every levels even tough it's true their tonality are based around the same "flavour"

I love the HD58X and ordered a second pair as backup. They are at the same grade as the Focal ELEX I own, too.
For 149 USD and approx. 175€ included shipment and tax they are not only a bargain, they are perfect!
Herewith my mesurements HD600, HD660S and HD58X. Btw. if they would ask me the HD58X should be sold as HD6600 in future from Sennheiser directly. ;) Just an old fashion screenshot with my smartphone. Top measurement is HD58X, lowest is HD600. So decide on your own.
