You would think that after what now 7 or 8 drops with Sennheiser and having to be the single largest volume buyer of headphones from them, probably by far, you could work on getting those lead times more manageable.

DinoJoeBS, this is a mass produced product made on an assembly line.

loki993Assembly line...not really. 6-10 months from start to finish is pretty reasonable when you consider that this is essentially a new product with test/evaluation units sent out, reviewed, revised...etc. Production proofs and revisions... And then factor in the accommodations given to all the people whining about needing more bass...

MotorradI agree with Motorrad. No offense meant to you Loki, but you obviously have never spent time in manufacturing. There is an enormous amount of work that goes on behind the scenes even to get to the point of a simple "assembly line". Doubly so for companies interested in delivering a new quality product.

Davezx6rI actually work for a car company and we retool an entire line to make a completely new car in a week with units going to dealers 3 months later, a car is a hell of a lot more complicated than headphones. The prototyping has been completed, they have been tested and measured. 6 months to make a headphone that they already make with minor revisions is ridiculous, but go ahead and keep trying to justify it and they will keep taking advantage. They are not a new product this is a revision of an existing one.
All that aside even if it does take that long for whatever reason, then don't tell us until the prod date is closer.

loki993No one is trying to "justify" it there, Veruca. Your irrelevant and dubious little false equivalence aside, there's nothing to 'justify' and no 'taking advantage' ...that's really just idiotic and laughably self-important nonsense. This was a small run of headphones for small company made by a medium sized company with other production commitments. This is not a big deal AT ALL. I know you want it NOW, but just put your binky back in and roll over on your side. "All that aside even if it does take that long for whatever reason, then don't tell us until the prod date is closer. " WTF are you even talking about? They were completely transparent from day one.

MotorradWanting more realistic bass is not whining. Compare your headphones to a decent home stereo. Not some cheapo 5.1 system, but a decent one designed for music. Do your headphones come close? I highly doubt it. The only ones that do have substantially more bass ability. Good clean bass is very hard to achieve in a headphone with dynamic drivers without compromising other frequency bands. You only have 1 transducer...

Grattle"realistic"...haha. whatever, whiner. That is the most idiotic blathering I've read on here for a long time...and that's saying a lot. Many got in on this drop looking for what was initially hyped as essentially a refreshed hd600. Now the whiners want them to sound like the 650... but I bet most of the whiners like you would really just be more happy with some freakin' Beats.
"Consumer demand for products fuels progress. If no one asks for better things, then producers don't try to improve." 10million Beats fans can't be wrong. hahaha

Grattleno disrespect, really, but you do need to pull your head out of your ass. Your comments are misplaced, out of line and that condescending tone backfired on you and made you look a lot less smart than you would like to think you are. The derisive comments in your direction are well-deserved. You are the one who looks like the troll in this instance.

Agreed. depends on what one listens to and how one listens. I could never embrace the HD650 as a studio headphone, whereas I still will frequently use the HD600 when I do use headphones at the board. HP's with more bass are generally less accurate in that regard. Grattle definitely seems like a kid who would be happier with a pair of Beats, some bright red ones at that.

jaffeActually - no. My favorite headphones are my THX-00, followed by my TX0-RP, and then the Grado GH1, and the Grado PS500. I've never even heard any Beats.
I have owned:
Sennheiser HD600, HD650, HD700, Amperior Grado: PS1000, PS500, GH1, SR125
And a nhoord based headphone with their new infra driver in a GS1000 type enclosure made from maple. This one is very nice, and compares well to the other high end Grados.
The perfect headphone would be the HD600 with flat bass response down to 20Hz. I don't ever see this happening, but one can dream.
Cheers
