How would these compare to Hyper X Cloud II's, for console gaming?

L_J_EDMI had a pair of the Cloud II's. In my opinion, Kingston does a fabulous job of making a great gaming headset. [a little back history. The Cloud II's are the Takstar Pro 80 with a mic. ( https://www.massdrop.com/buy/takstar-pro-80-headphones ) The Cloud II / Takstar Pro 80 is a clone of the beyerdynamic DT770 (these have no mic, but could use with a modmic ) which are the Beyerdynamic MMX330's ( DT 770's with a mic. These headphones are closed cans as well so there will be a difference in soundstage. ] Sennheiser really has a little bit of an edge with their gaming headsets. Sennheiser gaming headsets are more comfortable compared to the Cloud II's which I changed the pads to the HM5 angled pads (https://www.amazon.com/Brainwavz-Angled-Memory-Foam-Earpad/dp/B00ZY8PGJI ). Cabling for the newer Sennheiser gaming headsets like the Game One and Game Zeros are detachable and you are able to change from a UNP PC CABLE - which comes with this pair of PC37X, You can get the UNP CONSOLE CABLE - which is the cable that I use instead of the PCV 05.
Here is the link to the UNP CONSOLE CABLE - https://en-us.sennheiser.com/accessories--unp-console-cable--game-one--game-zero?gclid=CN259NT8v9ECFY09gQodrqYF6w
PCV 05 ( which is posted on the description page ) - https://en-us.sennheiser.com/pcv-05
I am kind of old school and use this too for my mac's since it seems to give me great mic feedback which the PCV 05 or UNP cables do not give this feature. - Turtle Beach Audio Advantage Amigo II USB Sound Card & Headset Adapter - https://www.amazon.com/Turtle-Beach-Advantage-Headset-Adapter/dp/B0036VO4XO

I guess to answer your question in short ( maybe, lol ). I believe the PC37X are a better value than the Cloud II's.
Reasons: PC37X has a detachable cable. You are able to use either the UNP PC Cable ( Included ) or the UNP Console Cable PC37X Has a beautifully designed Mic that is superior to the Cloud II Mic. PC37X's Mic is easily muted by flipping it up out of the way like the Astro a50's PC37X have a Semi open back which is better for multiplayer gaming. PC37X is based on the old hd555/595 headphones if they have the same drive as the PC 363D

bjwThanks for the very detailed response!
You are tempting me with these now. I am from the UK, so hopefully import duty isn't too excessive. If that is the case I have also contemplated getting the AKG k612pro, and a modmic, for the same price as these delivered.
Still quite unsure which to go for yet.
Edit: Just to add I am on xbox one.

L_J_EDMAlso for console gaming. They are going to be very similar with the Sennheiser on top since they are open back. However you really won't notice much. a Mixamp would really help either one of these headphones shine - Here is an example - http://www.astrogaming.com/shop/mixamps/

bjwI have looked into a mixamp setup, unfortunately my budget won't stretch that far at present, the best I could do is a turtle beach DSS2.

L_J_EDMI like the AKG k612pro's. They are reference headphones with a higher impedance than these. They will fit nicely with the Xbox One. Now if you are talking about the older controller then it can be a little bit of an adventure connecting everything to the controller with an adaptor. Plus you have to get one of the adaptors I talked about above. Of course you would need an adaptor with the PC37X's but its one cable to controller adaptor or one cable to the new controller with the 3.5 mm input.
Also, The AKG k612pro's do not have a detachable cable. This is why I keep going back to them. lol I am kind of a freak when it comes to cables. I love wired vs bluetooth or wireless. But if I have wires. I want it to be neat. Now other may don't care.
I think either would be a great fit but, for me, I live the convenience of already having the Sennheiser mic.

bjwI forgot to mention. I think the soundstage for gaming is better for the PC37X's than the K612 Pro's will offer. The K612 Pro's are lacking int he mid and lower end a little. You won't get the feel of the game you are playing. as much. If that doesn't matter then, Well. disregard ◕‿◕

bjwThanks again.
You've really got me thinking now. If these can be shipped to the UK for less than £130 incl import fees, then I'll probably bite!

bjwI would be shocked if these had a better soundstage than the K612. The only Sennheiser headphones with a better soundstage are the HD800. These are based on the 598 or 600 series drivers.

BeyondMaxPowerHonestly to me it's by a tiny margin in certain area. Music wise no. But gaming yes

bjwWould you or anyone reading this know what kind of import fees I'm looking at ordering to the UK? Also what do I do if there is an issue, will I need to pay return shipping?
