I right now have the Seenheiser PC 350 special edition and I was wondering if the PC37X will sounds better then these and if the pads are more comfortable? also does the massdrop edition have better headpressure then the special edition because they don't sit like a headset should and sounds like shit vs the dt 990 premium 600 ohm that I had before. So if anyone knows please respond because I had my seenheiser special edition that I have right now....
ImTheRealMVPThe PC350 was a Sennheiser HD555 with a cartioid mic, the PC373D and PC37X are based on an HD598, but a touch of added bass and angled drivers, so the sound will be a little better. These are the standard pads and I don't think they've changed the comfort, BUT pads break in and eventually wear out and become itchy if you don't take them off to wash. I think the oval pads are quite comfortable and compensate for the headset's strong clamp pressure.
Of course, personal taste wins the day, and the DT990 is tuned with a much more V-shaped frequency curve, so if you like the DT990 better than your old headset then this drop will not be great for you. I recommend trying to score a Philips Fidelio X1, and replacing the cable with a V-Moda BoomPro, or getting a HiFiman HE400 (not the 400i, which is less v-shaped).
