Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

We will be sending out an email update to everyone later but the short of it is, everything is tracking way ahead of schedule and we expect to start shipping the week of March 6th (3+ weeks ahead of schedule!). Longer version is, the production finished ahead of schedule (props to Sennheiser and the team here, looks like I am buying Will and co. a bottle of Champagne) . We are expecting them to arrive in our warehouse mid next week where we will do some final QC checks, and then begin shipping them out. We had a unit shipped to our office ahead of time for our first QC pass and I am posting the pictures below. The product itself works perfectly and the packaging is great. They sound exactly as intended and we think (and hope) everyone is going to be really happy.
However, we noticed one small misprint on the manual. The instruction manual is titled the “PC37X Gaming headset for the” … wait for it… “Xbox” (I swear this was not some joke by Will or to troll pcmasterrace) and Sennheiser is extremely apologetic about this mistake. There are two options: Option A: We ship the units out early, everyone ignores the misprint and enjoys the headsets. For those who need to refer to a manual, we will host a PDF version on our site (but seriously this isn’t rocket science). Option B: We wait until a new batch of manuals are printed and shipped to our warehouse. We do not currently have an estimate on how long this would take but I would expect a few weeks delay. Once they arrive, we can replace the manual and then ship them out. Our default choice is Option A so that we can get these headsets out ASAP unless there is a strong desire for Option B but wanted to get everyone’s thoughts.
