Received my PC37X yesterday and I'm fairly impressed, with a few minor exceptions. I'll get my only complaints out of the way first: - Coming from the HD598, HD600, and HF650, I felt like the build quality on these isn't quite as nice. Not that it's 'bad', it's just... well, made in China, I guess is what I'm trying to say. I didn't actually realize that when I ordered these. They don't feel particularly fragile or anything, just not the same premium feel of the Sennheisers that I'm used to. - The ear cups were a bit smaller than I expected. With all of the talk about these using the same 598/600 drivers, I assumed that they would be the same size. These are noticeably smaller. However, after having worn them for a couple of hours, I will say this doesn't seem to actually be a problem. My ears are pretty much able to fit into them and they are quite comfortable.
That's about it. With those minor complaints out of the way, let's get on to what I like about this headset, which is most everything else! I'd prefer if it didn't come with the audio and mic split... but that's not a big deal and I already had the PC05 adapter waiting when these arrived. But the nice, soft, braided line cable feels good. It's hanging onto it's kinks a little bit, but I'm hoping those will work out fairly well over time. The ear pads are very comfortable, even though they're a little smaller than I expected. The head band padding seems to be working well after a little over 3 hours of use. They feel nice and light. Not too bulky. I tested a sample audio recording with the microphone which seems to sounds clean and clear. I bought these for use at work. I'm not a gamer, but I am on conference calls on a daily basis and the I'm not too fond of the headset provided to me by work. I also listen to music through headphones pretty much all day. I was using my HD598Cs/HD600's for this purpose... so when I saw these come up with good sound AND the addition of a quality mic, I had to give it a shot. I tried using the shorter mic cable on the HD598Cs and it was terrible for conference calls with other noise going on around me. It picked up everything and some other engineers sitting near me are frequently loud. So the noise cancelling mic seems like it's going to be an excellent addition.
For the money, I think I would buy these again. If anything changes, I'll report back.

UncleMaliceDo you think these would benefit from external DAC? I will get mine on monday and wondering if I should/need buy one or not. I like to listen to a lot of instrumental and rock music. I'm aiming for FiiO E10k OLYMPUS 2.

s3rg1I don't think it hurts, the problem is that most dacs don't seem to process mic in... at least in the lower end. So you'd need to split the connection, which is probably overkill, unless you switch back and forth, which is admittedly what I've done the past couple of days. I have the DAC X6 at work and plug these right into the PC05 connector.... so I listen to music all day through the DAC-amp, then when I have a conference call, I just pull them out and plug into my Macbook Pro. It's not a big deal.
