I have been looking around for a high-quality ADC (analog-to-digital converter) to record the PC37X microphone's input at its best, into a computer (PC). I tried a large number of PCIe sound cards and USB adapters over summer 2017: unfortunately, all exhibited noticeable hissing on the microphone input at rest. (This includes the Sound Blaster E5.) The only device that works reliably is the Sound Blaster Tactic(3D) Sigma USB dongle, which is limited to 16-bit/44.1kHz recording. Remarkably, that input device manages to record with virtually no hissing at rest, decent full sound, and virtually no clipping. The built-in 3.5mm jack on my mid-2014 MacBook Pro sounds in the middle of the pack: when "use ambient noise reduction" is on, there is no hissing at rest but the vocal quality sounds slightly nasal. When "use ambient noise reduction" is off, the vocal quality sounds full, but there is noticeable hissing.
The microphone on the PC37X itself is top-notch: it's not a studio condenser mic but it sure gets close. The problem is getting recording hardware that has a microphone input jack to match. Any ideas?

SeanTekHmm that's weird, are you sure that it's not just a faulty unit? I've had previous versions of this headset as well and never experienced this issue.

CamoGekoUnfortunately yes. I believe I tried two E5 units, in fact. It seems to be a persistent problem. Like I said, I do not think it is a P37X headset problem; rather, it has to do with a lack of good ADC hardware out there...
