Just had a quick question, will the audio coming out of the ear cups get picked up by the mic due to the open back design?

M_RiGGzSometimes. I've used it with discord and my friends can sometimes hear the my Youtube videos in the background, so to counteract that I usually just decrease the sensitivity of the mic in the discord settings.
It never picks up game sounds for me though so your mileage may vary.

Lamar_ChanSo, what is drop? How can I purchase an item. I was willing to buy PC37X. But they forced me to register in order to see the price. When I did make an account, it say drop, request, instead of showing me the price. They tricked me, they cheated with me. I'm so disappointed. Please, do something.

RavenBranwenOkay so how Massdrop works is that items on this site are called 'drops' and what these drops are (usually) discounted items that run for a limited time (usually a few weeks). After the time period is up all drops purchased in said time period gets shipped out to the consumers, it can then be requested to have brought back.
These headphones have been redropped multiple times, so I shouldn't worry. However you'll need to wait for the next one, no one will know when the next drop is.
Also a question: how did you find out about this drop, Was it a Youtube video or by other means? And if it was a video, how long ago was it posted?

Lamar_ChanWell. I don't own any gaming headset. I don't even have a regular headset either. I never had one. So, I was looking for a gaming headset on youtube. I found a video something like "My New favorite Gaming Headeset." The review seem good and I decided to purchase it. The video might be 2 or 6 months old. However, I watched it 4 days ago. Though it wasn't nice of Massdrop to trick me like that. Telling me to register in order to see the price, and when I did register, it's not in the stock.

RavenBranwenAhh, yeah that's probably the issue. Finding videos about the PC37x can be problematic due to the drops being time sensitive, unless it was a recent video.
I can understand your fustration with having to sign up to massdrop to view the prices, that's unfair to you. However, if you do want to purchase these headphones you would've needed to sign up in any case. A silver lining to this now is that you can request for the drop to come back and get notified via email when it drops again.
I could even let you now if you'd like.

RavenBranwenopen back means sound from the outside can get through the headphones easily. this means you can hear someone talking to you very easily. these are good if you want to be able to hear things around you irl as well as in game. one problem with this is that it leaks sound very easily, so if you dont want nearby people to hear your music or something like that, you might not want to consider open back.
closed back is the opposite. it means sound is blocked off, so you only have you and your game. you dont hear noise and people around you. sound wont be able to leak out of this, and the audio can also sound a bit more full because it doesnt escape (however the sound of open backs is basically the same as closed backs). if you talk alot, closed back may be a problem because its hard to hear yourself, unlike with open back. if you dont want to be distracted and dont mind not being able to hear yourself too well, closed back would be the choice.

RavenBranwenI would say that if you could save up the extra $20 (plus tax), these are a pretty good option. To be honest there aren't many open back gaming headsets on the market under $100. You could however make one by pairing the ModMic 4 or 5 with a decent pair of open-back headphones. There's a whole list of headphones on reddit that this guy recommends for gaming, and I'm sure you'll be able to find something that fits your needs. Edit: One good suggestion is the Superlux HD668B paired with the ModMic. Buying both of these on amazon will run you back about $100 (not including tax).

RavenBranwenI wouldn't count on a new release, though it is possible, who's to say there will be a new release except the manufacturer. Like I said in my previous comment, you could probably put together a good headset if you take a look at the buying guide I linked. Otherwise if you want to save up a little more money, get this headset. Good luck.
