4mm blade thickness oh God why??? the whole world is using 3mm and these fancy pants custom guys keep producing 4mm safe queens.
4mm is camp knife territory. What the hell are they thinking?? -"but dude, it's so sturdy and beasty" yeah? get an axe. i want a knife.

Illinois_knife_guyi don't notice 1mm of difference too much when i'm engaged in my daily cutting tasks. but then again, i'm not a surgeon. more seriously, blade stock measurements are a terrible way to prejudge the cutting effectiveness of a blade -- isn't thickness behind the edge and again at some standardized distance from the edge a better benchmark for slicing ability?
both are important. neither should be weighed against the other. I didn't mention the grind because it looks great but I stand by what I said, 4mm is too damn thick. I have lots of knives at 3mm and my Esee Zancudo which is about 2.25mm is the best performer of them all. Even the Mora Garberg is 3mm and that's a camp beater.
Maybe most people won't notice but I do. The thickness is the only thing that tells me that this knife is not for me because it doesn't need the extra steel. I'll wager that most people that will buy this knife will use it for a month and then stash it for a better knife.

Illinois_knife_guyi guess i've had good luck with bharucha designs because the height of the blade is usually pretty tall, meaning that you get a much more gradual approach to the edge and, therefore, excellent slicing geometry. but to each their own!

Illinois_knife_guyThis is more of an art knife. I doubt many will utilize it as an EDC.

Illinois_knife_guyI'm with you here. 3 mm is plenty thick enough for a "knife". I wish there were more quality knives that were "thin".

MendoteachThe Spyderco Chaparral they just dropped recently with the Raffir Noble scales is right up your alley! Less than 2mm thickness in XHP, full flat grind, etc. Love or hate the scales but I have never held such a profoundly-capable slicer. Thickness Does matter, lol!!!
