DZhanA couple of highlights and we'll plan on expanding this in a more detailed post. The short is that British Belt Co. is using the highest grade materials and craftsmanship (see more time consuming) for this belt.
1. This collab uses French full grain calf skin which is is considered by many to be the most desirable type of European cow leather. This is a big part of the reason why several high end leather goods brands originated in france (Hermes, LV). The Miller uses Italian calf skin and specifically pebbled leather to hide imperfections in the leather, whereas the Massdrop X British Belt Co. uses smooth leather which means the quality of the leather is all the more important. 2. On craftsmanship, the hides are tanned and prepared for treatment at the tannery, then they’re passed to British Belt who does all the dying, finishing, and burnishing by hand. British Belt Co. has various levels of finishing and burnishing, this belt applies all of their highest quality level processes. As an example, the Miller belt is not burnished whereas this collab is.
