Hey guys!
As promised - we’re releasing the acrylic base for the tokyo60!
@yanbowu and @johnyu have been hard at work behind the scenes to make this happen... and to also re-release alu bottoms in the limited R1 colors.
looking for this to be the first of many mini-drops to let you customize the tokyo60!

I would like to know if longer screws come with acrylic diffuser.
LOKIA007
Yes they will.
I so wish this case design was made for more standard 60% keyboards.
I'd buy one right now.
For people just ordering the acrylic base, will we get extra rubber bumpers to put on the bottom if we plan to use the acrylic as the bottom plate?
Will the key caps include 1.5U Alt keys and 1U CMD keys? Thanks
Half a year for just the diffuser? (๑-﹏-๑) I'll probably forget about it by then, haha.
Has anyone else tried swapping switches in their Tokyo60 board? I had mine working with the purple Zealios that I ordered with the kit, but when I swapped these out with new Zilent 67g switches, many of the switch positions no longer worked. I tried multiple times with different switches, but the dead positions remained dead.
EDIT: Okay, got it working again! I remembered what my mother told me when I was a little kid struggling to put something together. "You have to hold your mouth right," she said. So, I tried this, and it worked! Seriously, as most of you who successfully put your Tokyo60s together, there is a knack to aligning the switches properly before applying any force to snap them into final position. It appears that even a slight bending of the metal pins disrupts the connection, but proper aligning keeps the pins straight.
I also used the trick that someone posted here for removing switches. That is, remove the base , flip the board over, and push the center post of the switch with a BIC ballpoint or similar tool. This works beautifully without damaging the switch.
Another good tip, as someone else suggested, is to test each switch as you go. I like to use the Switch Hitter program from Elite Keyboards for switch testing.
Round 1 buyers have to wait until March to get their daily recommended intake of RGB? Sounds very unhealthy.
Or will acrylic diffusers ship on their own date if we don't want another base or keycaps?
Fooblitzky
Agree
Fooblitzky
Yeah, I think R1 buyers should get priority for diffusers.
Is Acrylic Diffuser come with longer screws?
LOKIA007
I would also like to know if longer screws come with acrylic diffuser.
Sorry, I also have V1 but what is the sense of obtaining another color plate that the one that matches my V1 other than the acrylic diffuser? I do not understand...

do I have to buy the acrylic diffuser as well as the bottom plate to use the diffuser?
Odin_De
Answered on top, but no you don't!
Wait, did the Season 1 boards have underlighting?

Oh amazing! Must have missed that. Guess I should actually get around to building mine.
EndlessBen
Presumably you'll need the diffuser to actually make use of the lighting
I really, deeply want this keycap set in a full kit

I did! You can see it in the laser thread in the talk section
BlueCrowned
@BlueCrowned same, I would love a TKL version of these.
Is there no option to buy a new case color only, instead of just the bottom plate? What if I own v1 of the tokyo60 but I only want a new colored case for it? @tokyocoffeenerd
kolyz
Yes. Go to the tokyo 60 drop and buy a case— don’t go to the “add ons” drop and expect to find it..
cqlypso
correct me if im wrong, but the regular v2 drop does not sell the case by itself. The case comes with the pcb and cable as well, no?
Looks good, thanks! Are there any photos of what it looks like having a different bottom plate color from the top? I'm curious what such flair would look like.
Just for clarification, the original v1 bottom plate is compatible with the new diffuser, yes?

I want to clarify this too. Do I need to buy the bottom plate in this add-on drop if I want a diffuser?
