tokyocoffeenerdAny plans on having preinstalled per-key RGB LEDs that go under the switches? I see single color LED holes on the PCB, but soldering LEDs on top of the switches would lock them in and not allow hotswapping.
tokyocoffeenerdCan you please send out updates, even if it's something like "testing the first run of pcb's". Radio silence after a GB ends is always discomforting. Especially when looking at your social medias when you do update them, speak nothing of the status of where the Tokyo60 is at. It's only been two months so it's not like I'm expecting "hey it's done and on time" but something is better than nothing. You made this comment 5 days ago now ... so how did it go??
weston990Sometimes there isn't really anything to update for weeks, like when a keycap set is queued before production and there's really not a lot to update for some months.
ZambumonI can understand that, but why the testing of the PCB now? Well I'm guessing it's a potential production PCB being tested before the warehouse doing all of them for the run is given the okay. But that's a guess. It's not difficult to take this exact image, put it on Instagram, give it a description "Hey Guys, PCBs are looking great and fully functional :D". Even a few days after it's been confirmed with the place producing em. Or images of the PCB fitting into the case, approving margins. Little things that are coming along in the production of it. It's not hard to communicate with people who bought in to the group buy how things are coming along.
weston990Sometimes people just don't want to work like that. Sure, there are group buys where the creators update every week or so, but they're not the majority or the norm. I'd rather have updates come at a leisurely pace that is suitable to the creator of the groupbuy rather than have him force to speak every week or so stating small, insignificant and minute updates.
irvinphanLeisurely pace is totally fine, and I agree we don't really need weekly updates by any means. But I'm very specifically talking about this PCB testing that's occurring. It's a little worrisome to see a comment like this, where testing is apparently being done, when I bought into the group buy under the impression that this kind of stuff had already been sorted out. So an update on something like "PCBs are totally working and going into production" would be very nice to hear. This isn't a small insignificant thing, this is literally the main component of the keyboard. If things aren't working out, it would be kinda nice to know.
Again I'm not saying spam my social media or the discussions on this group buy with updates. I'm saying that plenty of time has passed on this drop to see at least one official update. The drops estimated length is 5 months from purchase to delivery, one update every four weeks shouldn't be hard to pull off. Especially if, as we can see, something pretty important is being worked on.

Can't even admit to it now. Still "looking into" why those that have received their board can't flash their PCBs. I get the feeling they know exactly what's going on, especially after that month delay for extra QC.
