Dr.DestructoI have this mini-pack, and have carried it with me on several bikepacking tours. I really like it, but haven't actually used it. I consider it a good way to carry an excess light load, after stocking up on food or something like that. The pockets do fit a 1-liter Nalgene bottle, but might bounce out on rough terrain. 150 grams, and packs up quite small. My opinion is that this is a great pack to have in your kit for emergencies.
RMC0109Like I said above, I've not actually used this pack. However, I just loaded it up with a 13.5 pound bag of baking soda (yes, you read that right - - yeah Costco!) and have been wearing it around the house for about ten minutes. The pack is not uncomfortable with that weight, but I probably wouldn't go much heavier than about 15 pounds because the mesh shoulder straps kind of pulled in narrower that their two inch width. At first, the weight moved around a bit, but after pulling tight the shoulder leveling straps (which don't look like they are included on the smaller 16-l pack), the weight carried snugly and securely against my back.
vinolinThanks. Those pictures are super helpful. It looks like 1l bottles easily fit in terms of diameter, but in terms of depth, the pockets are not very deep.
