The original Matrix Mini-i DAC/amp was a big hit with the audiophile community, boasting impressive specs and versatility in a small package. Now, the Mini-i Pro 2 makes the design even better. The headphone amplifying circuits have a 40 percent improvement, allowing 210 mW of distortionless power under 300 ohms. The build quality has been improved, too, with a new aluminum body and a tempered glass display with embedded OLED for better clarity, visibility, and scratch resistance. Like its predecessor, the Mini-i Pro 2 has loads of great features, including XLR and RCA outputs, plus coaxial, AES/EBU in, optical USB, and aptX Bluetooth connectivity. Equipped with an ESS Ultra ES9016S DAC chip, it supports up to 32-bit/384-kHz PCM and DSD256.
