Just got it today. The box is really small and not up to par for a watch this expensive..
The watch itself is beautiful but if you turn it to the back you can see why it is so cheap (relatively for a watch that has retrograde)... ANDDDDD there are more than one tiny scratches on the back. I just got it out of the plastic bag so I can only assume it is from the manufacturer! I am not sure why if it is not the case. I have only rested it on the outer box's foam.... How not careful they are... But for such a discount I will give them a pass. If I paid full retail I would certainly demand a refund.....
One plus of this drop is that i think the goods are from Maurice themselves. It does appears to be so on my warranty card.
And thanks FedEx and USPS for delivering it ahead of schedule!
Here is a well-done in around the same price bucket (does cost more) watch from JLC for comparison:

DeathWatchI think I recall that ML specifically avoided the typical Cote de Geneve finishing for many of their in-house movements?

vaelin99I do not know since I am not specifically interested in them before. But you can still see there is no polishing on the edges. And mostly it is just an uninspiring blank slab of SS.... You can see the rendering of the movement on their website and on the MD page. It looks better than this. Notice how they darkened the line on the rotor to make it appears to be polished in a wave patten...... That just takes more work period. I think they skipped it for cost saving. Which is understandable for 3k. But for the 7-8k original price hell no

DeathWatchI see what you're referring to now. I guess I've seen the movement in-person before so I know what it actually looks like, so no unmet expectations. Still ecstatic that we got this for well below the going rate for used on the open market.
