Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. Sculpted-profile The majority of custom keycap sets are sculpted-profile (Cherry, SA, MT3, KAT, etc. - more on profiles generally here) so let’s start there. I picked this up about 6-7 months ago during a, I believe it was for labor day, sale on Max Keyboards website. I went with Cherry Blue switches and Red backlight to match the red/black my PC ended up being when I built it. I have to say this keyboard is a wonderful device.
The keys are all still perfect, no sticking, no shine to them. The double shot keycaps look and feel wonderful to type on. And the backlight brightness is just right with the settings that are built into the board. I would recommend Max Keyboards to anyone looking to get a really decent mechanical that won't break the bank compared to some others. There no real flex to the construction of the board and it has a very nice weight to it. Not super heavy but not flimsy by any stretch of the imagination. It also includes a very comfortable nice high quality memory foam wrist rest which is something that is becoming increasingly rare among keyboards.
With all that said. My only gripe is I wish the flip out riser feet had a rubber tip or coating on them to help with sliding when they are extended. I notice it slides around my desk sometimes during gaming sessions. But for typing I never notice any slide.
The only recommendation I have to anyone who maybe can't get this off Massdrop at the time of posting but wants it, check Max Keyboards website regularly. When I bought mine from them on holiday sale my total came to just about what this will cost at the lowest and with shipping. And I also got a keycap puller, and two extra sets of novelty keycaps I will link below.

Mine, I still have that complaint. I wonder if they will let me order just a pair of feet from them and then I could just pop them into mine if they fit...
