Seriously, these chinese companies are just looking to rip us at this point, if people want an awesome knife for less than this go pick up some of the ZT models being discontinued like the Rexford models, get a design made by a real industry legend, equal materials, a better company with a lifetime warranty for less $$ than this china produced knife with little to no backing if anything goes wrong.

GoodTimesYour view of Chinese companies is behind the times. Chinese makers have reps in the US for warranty issues and their knives are sold by the major knife retailers.

BoxBladeBS. My collection runs into the hundreds of folders & I had a detente ball come out of 2 different chinese made knives in the last 12 months. Both from Massdrop who was no help AT ALL, one eventually got fixed after much pia & cost me more $$, the other they no longer have spare lock bar inserts where the detente ball was for that particular model anymore. I am not in usa by the way, but I'm waaay closer to china than you being in Australia. Give me a ZT over this anyday. And yes, I have used their warranty before too, sooo much better, there is simply no comparison.

GoodTimesWell, you are not in the US so you don't have a warranty rep. If a WE or Kizer needs repairs, they are done in the US by their reps. BTW- I've heard worse horror stories about Italian knives where they have to be mailed all the way to Italy. Italian knives have lots of quality issues. Your views on Chinese knives are archaic and I don't care how many folders you own, that doesn't make you right. I own many Chinese knives and they are typically better made than a ZT, Spyderco or Benchmade and with superior materials. Look at how ZT screws their scales into aluminum backspacers. Reate doesn't. Just my observations.

GoodTimesI've had consistently good experiences with Kizer Cutlery (a Chinese company). But then, my Kizers have names like Dorado, Nomad, and Hustler. They're all desgined by American knife makers and made with American S35VN steel.
A knife named "Ptilopsis"? No named designer? Made with (or claimed to be made with) the latest "super steel"? You know, what? One thing Chinese companies are bad at, without help from Western designers, is designing and marketing for Western knife collectors.
I see at least one person has already thrown down on this. I sincerely wish you the best of luck on your purchase. Please, please write a review for us more skeptical folks.

LovecraftianI'm sure the review would be glowing no matter what so they can sell it & recoup a little of this outrageous price. Isn't made in china meant to be a bargain? Kizer uses cheap screws, thats my biggest gripe there, regular maintenance will ruin them eventually. Reate & We are best & as you said, the only models really worth a damn are the American designs. But their prices should not be more than their American made counter parts.

BoxBladeWarranty rep means NOTHING when they no longer have replacement parts. Misanthropia (YouTube, knife nuts podcast etc) lives in the USA had the same issue I did recently with a WE 707 despite the local rep, they do not manufacture enough extra parts for possible warranty issues. As for made in italy knives, I have heard of issues, have had no issues personally, but more importantly I've never heard of them not having spare parts to fix issues. I understand occasional lemons happen everywhere but its what the company does next to help their customers I'm talking about. This simply does not happen with companies that have lifetime warranties like zt & bm. They manufacture spare parts on all models. Anyway, all this about a dud chinese knife is fruitless, I'm going back to grail hunting customs from G9 now, enjoy your crappy chinese collection, especially those in house designs, they will be timeless 😂🤣🤣🤣

GoodTimesYeah right. You are just a bitter person who can't buy guns. Have a Foster's and mellow out. BTW- The WE reps are my friends and have never complained about getting parts.

GoodTimesOh yes, every historian says that Australia is why the Allies won WWII. We fought off the Japanese at Corral Sea which kept the Japanese from facing that awesome Australian military in an invasion. The Soviets shuddered in fear during the Cold War because of the mighty Australians. Thanks for keeping us free. Any more delusions Killer Koala?

GoodTimesObviously you have to be joking. "real industry legends" Right. Rexford is a total legend. That's why he has nothing that has made the knife world change the way it is.
ZT's customer service is a joke. How can you say that you'll send screws out but yet you refuse to even reply or send the screws out.

HowAmIYour right, whoever designed this clearly is ahead of Rexford's designs, no big time collector respects that guy..... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
And your point about zt screws?? Maxace staff should master Engrish before commenting on here. 😉
