I owned a Nighthawk x7 (blues) with purple LEDs. Of the 7 mech keyboards I have owned, it by far had the best typing experience. The keycaps had the best, most stable fit. Paired with the solid metal plate, it was uniquely solid feeling and sounding. In fact, I replaced the letter keys with PBT caps but actually preferred the typing feel of the stock ABS caps. The backlight is bright and beautiful. And past a day or two, I don't recall any smell to the wrist rest, which I miss because it was slightly wider than most foam rests with a slight angle. The ONLY reason I sold it was because of the nonstandard bottom row. Sigh. But if you don't mind that, then there is very little not to like.

KellyHmaybe it's just me, but i've had a totally different experience with max keyboards.
i have a x-8 or x-9 whichever is mx browns.
couple of issues:
-some of the keys register more than once (double typing) or don't register at all. i sent to warranty and got it serviced. but honestly for the $139.99 i payed i expect PERFECTION out of the box. -the leds do not turn off when i shut off my computer. i tried the bios method of disabling power on usb, still does not shut off. - i have since replaced the keyboard for a ducky shine 4. NO issues whatsoever after 6 months, payed $150 and im very happy with it.

NYalexI did have an issue with the keyboard registering a key press multiple times. This was mostly fixed by adjusting the polling rate on my laptop. I say mostly because it happened once after that - the shift key. I did not have an issue with a keypress not registering at all. I have seen others with the back light issue, but this did not happen to me. I wonder if it depends on the device you are connecting it to. I still think the typing experience was unbelievably good.

KellyHi use my keyboards extensively while gaming and as well as excel. i work with an extreme amount of excel spreadsheets and there is nothing more frustrating than having keys not register or register twice. first i thought it was me while gaming, but soon i realized it wasn't me when i was working on spreadsheets. typing experience solely depends on the type of cherry mx keys, the brand of keyboard really does not matter. all the keys and mechanisms are the same for cherries. if you felt good typing on a cherry blue for example, you will most likelly have the same experience when using cherry blues from any other brand.
the LED staying on issue is a known issue @ max forums. the solution they have is to disable power to the USB port, which may or may not work.
overall i'm dissapointed because i paid $139.99 for mine. at this price Quality assurance should be top notch. in my case it wasn't.
bought a ducky shine 4 for $149.99 and i'm very happy. no issues whatsoever, exactly what it should be for a keyboard that costs more than $100.
