TylerJ.ChiltonI've posted it on my facebook, for all the good it may do.

Most people are turned off because you have to register to the site to see anything, but you know how it goes.

I jumped on because I like power in the back, will do a lot to reducing clutter. Any chance getting a quarter inch headphone jack? 3.5mm works fine and adapters exist, but the two sets of cans I'll be using are both quarter inch plugs.

WhiteSomewhat to your own point and to Tyler's from earlier, I think it's a waste of time to quibble about integrating quarter inch or RCA connectors -- and to a lesser extent even mods like the rear power -- instead of putting more attention on that ODAC line-out for an extra $10-15, a problem that can't be solved with a simple adaptor. My commitment is waiting on the sidelines until that option is somehow added.

I'll reiterate -- if the drop doesn't happen, then it should be immediately re-launched with the same product for $10-15 more with that line-out added in. People have spent too much money on other amps to happily pay for a $150 DAC that only works with the integrated amp and nothing else. No fault to the vendor as it's a stupid flaw in the reference design, but the opportunity for a critical improvement that's right there in plain sight should be realized for such an incredibly marginal cost.

Or, if people really want to pay another $80 for a quarter inch jack and nicer knob, do the desktop version with the ODAC line-out mod. Like 'Anonymouse' below, I had also been wondering why the added height couldn't allow for adding back in the amp batteries lost from the standalone O2, but... whatever.
AB01It's not as simple as just adding and changing designs ect ect. The demand is not high enough to do a whole new custom panel and amplifier because some people want a certain design. If you want it that bad, you can send me a message and arrange something else.

The extra cost of the desktop amplifier is not only a larger case, but RCA's and 1/4" jacks. They are not cheap and I need to charge for labor because it takes a considerable more amount of time to make a desktop version rather than a normal size amp.

The reason why there is no battery option for the desktop case is because you'd be crazy to use that thingy portabily with batteries. It's called a desktop version for a reason. In any case the ODAC rests with the battery connectors in the amp.

AB01Might as well just go with the independent O2 and ODAC: restores the batteries option, lets you use the DAC as you please. That combo might make an interesting drop, though a higher price might discourage some
SlanderThe price on my website for an independent o2 ($115) and ODAC ($145) is $264 before shiping. Not that much of a price increase.

We will be posting another drop around black friday.

TylerJ.ChiltonCouple of last minute clarification questions; trying to make this work even if I have to mod the plate myself:
- Can the unit - particularly the back panel - still be disassembled even with the rear power jack?
- If I want to add in the line-out jack and back-panel opening, can I request longer connection wires between the O2 & ODAC in case disconnecting can be avoided?
- And in case any mod somehow fails, then apart from the missing batteries, does the O2 board have absolutely everything connected / installed needed in order to use them? Meaning, if I wanted to disconnect/remove the ODAC permanently, could I easily just throw the Tenergy batteries into place and use the amp as a portable? Or has an installation section been skipped for an AC-Only version of the O2, as mentioned in the NwAVGuy "details" article?
AB01Yes, the back panel comes off with the 4 screws and removing the nut that holds the power jack onto the front panel.

You won't need longer wires for anything.

Yes the battery jacks are still installed as normal. If you want to remove the ODAC, there are only 3 wires you need to cut/de solder.
