An educational tool for children, a fun toy for adults, and a spectacle for the whole family, the mBot Ranger is a make-it-yourself robot controlled by your smart device. Comprising a variety of wheels, tracks, motors, and sensors, it takes only 20 minutes to assemble and can be easily manipulated with the Makeblock HD app. But the real fun starts when you start “coding.” Utilizing an open-source, drag-and-drop graphical programming software, it helps children explore the possibilities of coding without actually writing any code. The Me Auriga main board is based on an open-source Arduino Mega 2560, providing five onboard sensors and 10 extension ports for customization.
The mBot Ranger comes in three different forms, each with unique abilities. The first form is the Land Raider. Capable of traversing tough ground, it’s great for off-roading and outdoor adventures. The Dashing Raptor is built for speed. It features a three-wheeled design that can spin around on its front two wheels, making it easy to maneuver in tight spaces. The mbot Ranger’s third form is the Nervous Bird. Maintaining its balance on two wheels, the Nervous Bird rocks back and forth when turning and accelerating. Finally, the mBot regularly updates online courses and manuals to give you a jumping-off point for your next project.
