Just an FYI, the newer Cinema & Gaming versions that have been reviewed lately and sell for over $100 only come in 3, 6 and 9-foot, so I'm assuming this is the previous version (with older chipset) that is available in 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9-foot (Fry's has this version in 5' for only $25 right now).

natecookNot 100% sure. Think the newest version is supposed to do some sort of anti-aliasing (and possibly some sharpening and contrast adjustment) in addition to upscaling. I'm guessing the old version just does upscaling (and likely the noise reduction and edge restoration mentioned in the description). Right now, there's a gaming and cinema version that are both over $100, so this one is probably an older version aimed towards movies/tv content and using their older processor. Marseilleinc.com has more information about the newest versions. Iirc, Philips also made a similar upscaling cable that would be comparable to the one being sold here.
