I have handled several of their models at BladeShow2017 and found them lacking. Except one. But the sucker is no where to be found for sale. A gentleman's friction folder with dual detent ball (on each side of the blade). Same VG-10 damascus in the blade. Don't even know the denominator for it. But I got one and love it!

jhoppsFit and finish, design, blade material (VG-10 minimally adequate), limited size and mechanical design type diversity. In many aspects they have fallen behind or consciously decided to limit their model line to the rigors of "signature models". I hope they will consider broadening their vision in order to gain more market. This friction folder is a good example of "a new wind of change".

marcusAntoniusI see what you're saying. I see their target group as being less interested in technical innovation than in gentleman's folders using traditional materials with a subtle Japanese flair. Fit and finish on mine have been on par with similarly priced knives: I had to tweak one pivot to open the way I like and tighten one screw after a few months of use, centering is spot on, grinds are clean, edges come shaving sharp. I agree that VG-10 is a lackluster choice, especially for the price, but they do a good job with it. I do love wood handled higonokamis, I'll be on the lookout for that one.
