KaozerCould you explain more? Why are teflon washers bad? What is expected in a $90 knife? Consider me a noob.

zsoumyaWell you usually see teflon washers on cheap 10$ chinese knives. They are considered barely better than having no washers at all. Around 35$ you start to see phosphor bronze washers. Which are smoother more resistant to wear and harder (less blade play). The real problem is that for 90$ you can get a knife with a washer so smooth you cant feel the friction. And i allmost forgot, you start seeing ball bearing pivot for that price

KaozerThanks for the info. If I had the cash to spare I would have considered this knife, though really the blade is the only part I like, visually speaking...I think the handles are rather boring. It's too bad though as I know I've seen this knife drop before, and am sure it will again.

MooTatersMcusta really knows their stuff when it comes to the vg10 steel. although id like to warn you that aluminium handles are super slippery. I dropped my mcusta mc4 (i think) katana just by having a slightly loose grip while trying to open it.

KaozerYeah, it's not Mcusta, but I love my Spyderco Centofante III which has VG-10 steel. It has been a great value folder for me, still nice and sharp...though it doesn't get that heavy of use.

MooTaterscant go wrong with a spyderco. they make really excellent knives for the money. probably my favorite knife company. should check out the manix 2 (light weight or g10) with s30v. its really good and should be a little cheaper than this if i recall properly.

KaozerOuch, yeah CSBA has really smashed the enthusiast's world up there, haven't they?
At least you can get a Skaha II without issue!
Also you should check out the Skaha II, I guess they're like a (working) poor man's Grimsmo Rask or Shiro, very smooth with a superb action.

OmniseedIm not quite sure how bad it is. I pulled out and got into another hobby before i get a nice blade seized.
I looked up the skaha 2 and thats a really lovely knife! Its on the upper end of my price range though.
