For anyone that's interested - I sent the knife with the busted lock (see my reply to @Wayoftread below) back to Mcusta in Japan and they've offered to replace it with a new one free of charge.
I had that thing for the better part of a decade and they're still willing to do that - if that's not an indicator of a manufacturer standing behind their product, then I don't know what is.
10/10, Mcusta. Good job.

sfzsfzThat's awesome service! Do you have the contact info for Mcusta? I bought an MC-1 here on Massdrop and love it, but two of the torx screws were loose and fell out at some point so I'm missing a center stud and two screws. I just want to buy the replacements but have no idea how to reach them.

XymnslotI actually cheated a bit and got my native Japanese speaker mom to reach out to them. Their website is here: http://mcusta.jp/ and the email address their replies have been coming from is info@mcusta.jp
YMMV when trying to deal with them in English. Good luck.
