Well, I still don't think you have it 100% right. The micarta and ebony wood look very similar but I believe the ebony wood has more of a sheen to it which you have labeled as the micarta.
awkI have 2 MCUSTA folders in this style. 1 from a purchase approx 7 yrs ago & the Ebony/Demascus here on MD. You can hold the ebony in sunlight & can easily see the wood grain! If you have a solid black w a set pattern.... It's not Ebony wood!
